Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report provides a handbook for fusion research of recommended cross-section and rate-coefficient data for collisions of carbon and oxygen ions with electrons, hydrogen atoms and molecules, and helium atoms. Published experimental and theoretical data have been collected and evaluated, and recommended data are presented in tabular, graphical, and parametrized form. Processes considered include exciation, ionization, and charge exchange at collision energies appropriate to applications in fusion-energy research.

This book was released on 1970 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cross sections are reported for production of positive ions and electrons in collisions of hydrogen atoms in the energy range 1-25 keV with He, Ne, A, Kr, Xe, H2, and O2. Slow, positive ions are produced by capture of an electron by the fast atom from the target gas and by ionization of the target. Electrons are produced by target gas ionization and by stripping of the fast atom. Ionization cross sections for each of the target gases are derived from the positive ion production cross sections and previous measurements of the capture cross sections. (Author).

Download or read book Scaling of Cross Sections in Ion-atom Collisions written by and published by . This book was released on 1994 with total page 12 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Differential electron emission at 15° is investigated for 50-500 keV/amu hydrogen impacting on He and H targets. From hydrogen particles (H, H, H2, H3+) ratios of cross sections relative to proton impact data, it is shown how bound projectile electrons influence the differential electron emission and where different ionization mechanisms are important. It is demonstrated that the H2+ and H3+ molecular ions interact as though they are composed of independent nuclei with the appropriate number of bound electrons, the electronic structure of the components appearing to be unimportant.
