Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many books have been written about the superintendency and all aspects of it. Additionally, "standards for superintendents" have been written by the American Association for School Administrators (AASA). These eight standards deal with Leadership and District Culture, Policy and Governance, Communications and Community Relations, Organizational Management, Curriculum Planning and Development, Instructional Management, Human Resource Management, and Values and Ethics of Leadership. States have standards that mirror these. Texas, for example, put the standards into three domains: Leadership of the Educational Community; Instructional Leadership; and Administrative Leadership. Within these three domains are listed the eight competencies which reflect AASA's eight standards. Daily Devotions for School Superintendents covers many of the standards but really hones in on Competency 1 which reads, "The superintendent knows how to act with integrity, fairness, and in an ethical manner in order to promote the success of all students." Containing 366 devotionals written to challenge, encourage, and to daily feed the superintendents as they face the many different situations in their personal lives and in the schools under their leadership, Daily Devotions for School Superintendents looks at all areas of the superintendency and provides daily devotionals from every book in the Bible. In addition, each daily verse is followed with powerful reflections to clearly illustrate and drive the principles home. All verses are taken from the King James version of the Bible and uncover God's presence, power, and provision for directing superintendents in their daily activities.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For Christian educators who desire to hear God's voice specifically addressing their daily work, this daily devotional offers inspiration, challenge, and encouragement to help live out their call from a biblical, God-centered focus. Whether teaching in a private or public school or homeschooling children, a Christian teacher can benefit by a daily orientation to the call of God on his/her life as an educator. Each day's offering inspires, challenges, and encourages teachers to continue in the calling God has placed on their life to educate and facilitate spiritual growth in their own professional and personal life and in the lives of their students. Each month is planned according to the rhythms of a traditional school year: August focuses on preparing for the school year, and September addresses new beginnings and getting to know their students, for example. Each week is themed to have a specific focus that reflects the events of a typical school calendar. Written as God speaking to His children, each day's message begins with focused scriptures for the week, then addresses common challenges in the daily life of a teacher. The format asks educators essential questions at the beginning of each unit, with scriptures aligned to that unit's theme. Each unit offers a collection of short, inspirational devotionals ending with reflection questions designed to reinforce the principles found in God's Word.

It is for coaches who are looking for something solid. It is for coaches who know that real ministry takes place in the opportunities of everyday life, rather than simply sitting in rows on Sunday morning or around a campfire singing kumbaya. It is for coaches who recognize that the Bible is the greatest source of leadership principles the world has ever known. It is for coaches eager to close the gap between the leader you are and the leader God created you to be. So sit back in your favorite chair and start your week investing a few minutes pondering the intersection of God's Word and your life and leadership. We're confident you'll be glad you did.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When I first started teaching, I had lots of head knowledge about the profession, but I was clueless about how to live out what matters most; my faith. Sure, I could take apart a state standard and write a great objective statement, but what about my real purpose? How do I teach as a Christian? This book compromises my eight-year journey of reading the Bible through the eyes of a teacher. I have taught both in a Title I public school and a private international school. But despite these vast differences, I have been surprised at the commonalities. No matter the students' income, ethnicity, culture, or language, the Bible is relevant to every classroom. So, open up your Bible and this devotion every week right before the bell and become equipped in your personal and professional lives to teach according to the Scriptures. May the Word take root in your life, and may God be glorified in your classroom.
