This book was released on 2018-06-11 with total page 457 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first volume of Viaggiatori “Curatele” series seeks to recreate some scientific dialogues, namely meetings, exchanges and acquisition of theoretical and practical scientific knowledge, thus linking the cultural, historical and geographical context of America, Asia, Europe and Mediterranean Sea between the 16th and the 20th century. More specifically, the main objective is to consider the role of travellers as passeurs, as “intermediaries” for building and allowing the circulation of knowhow and the practical and theoretical knowledge from one continent to another.

Book Synopsis Baltic Commerce and Urban Society, 1500-1700 by : Maria Bogucka
Download or read book Baltic Commerce and Urban Society, 1500-1700 written by Maria Bogucka and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2024-10-28 with total page 311 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The great merchant port of Danzig, now Gdansk, is at the centre of this set of studies by Professor Maria Bogucka. Through it passed the greatest part of the trade that linked the West with Poland and the Baltic; from it the commercial culture of the West spread out into the towns of Poland, and with it new currents in religion and urban life, and from there it began to permeate the whole of Polish society. The studies in this volume examine both the social and economic sides of this process, looking at articles of commerce and trends in urbanization, as well as patterns of poor relief and gender relations. The author's aim is to analyse specific aspects of what happened in Poland, while situating these in the broader context of the development of early modern European society.

Book Synopsis Studium Scribendi by : Marie Ledentu
Download or read book Studium Scribendi written by Marie Ledentu and published by Peeters Publishers. This book was released on 2004 with total page 458 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Esculape et Dionysos by : Jean Céard
Download or read book Esculape et Dionysos written by Jean Céard and published by Librairie Droz. This book was released on 2008 with total page 1220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
