Book excerpt: The Value of Intangibles Assets and the Human Capital Disclosure of companies specializing in IT Consulting, Application & Internet Software and Data Processing. A Cross-Country Comparison Italy-England is a work born of the in depth study of the IC disclosure of Italian companies and the curiosity of the comparison with British companies. Voluntary disclosure of intangible resources reduces information asymmetry and the cost of capital (Botosan, 1997; Bojelbene M. A. and Affes Habib, 2013) and this encourages managers to increase this communication. The high-tech companies give much importance to intangible resources, particularly human resources, this observation led to the idea of studying the communication of human capital in the context of such companies. With the passing of time we see a greater interest on the part of company management to human capital with respect to the structural capital that has always been the subject of corporate communications.

All the writings are original and collect the author's emotions and experiences. The author has specially created images for each of them with various pictorial and graphic techniques. Some of them analyze the reality of the pandemic with the eyes of the imagination that all writers are lucky enough to have. The underlying objective of the writing of this collection is mainly to fight the coronavirus also by telling positive and negative stories always with a thin thread of hope. Obviously, all references to facts and people are purely coincidental since they originated from the author's imagination.

Book excerpt: The bankruptcy prediction model Z-ScoreM for Italian Manufacturing Listed Companies and Z'-ScoreM for Italian Industrial Company. The work stems from the study of the probability of default started in 2007 and continues today. In particular, this analysis is taken up with the study of the Rating and the credit and liquidity risk carried out during the author's research doctorate. The study is the continuation of other recently published author's e-books. The main objective is to identify a model for Italian companies based on Altman's Z-Score variables. Several researchers have analyzed the probability of failure of large companies, listed or emerging markets, other authors have tried to create a dashboard useful for the analysis of key indicators to be monitored, but this research differs for the creation of a specific indicator for the Italian Industrial Companies based on Altman variables.

Book excerpt: The study is linked to the analysis of voluntary disclosure present in the financial statements of the companies. In particular, it is interesting to analyze that part of the relational capital defined as CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and the part of information falling within the risk disclosure (environmental and social). It is known that in 2017, for large organizations, the sustainability report, also known as the social report, also referred to as a non-financial statement pursuant to Legislative Decree 254/2016, will be mandatory. This Working Paper is linked to the previous Working Paper on Sustainability n.1 "Disclosure on sustainable development and the greater value recognized to the company by the market" by the same Author who analyzed the relevance of disclosure on sustainable development and environmental policies present in the financial statements of companies. This research is still in the first phase of study as only the financial statements for the year 2010 of the 21 selected companies have been analyzed. In this work, compared to the previous one, new keywords taken from the guidelines on CSR disclosure have been added with consequent expansion of the bibliography. The research continues with the detection of the keywords on sustainability deriving from the analysis of the financial statements of the companies selected from 2011 to 2017. The study of the evolution of the CSR disclosure of the two categories "Environmental" and "Social" will be the final goal of this research on sustainability. Book excerpt: This short story arises from an in-depth reflection on the events that took place in this pandemic period. Realizing the transience of life exposes you to both external and internal judgments about what you did and what you wanted to do at a young age. We have lived a life thinking of aging like our grandparents without knowing how fragile life is with the hope of being able to make our dreams come true in the future. At this age I understand the words of Dante "In the middle of the journey of our life I found myself in a dark forest because the straight path was lost." Now that we find ourselves doing the sums of life even if not on a journey of redemption as intended by Dante. Courage also derives from the unconscious resignation to the transience of life that leads us to make risky choices, which make life truly live.

Book excerpt: Encompassing interviews with managing directors and CEOs, this book explores the role of business outsiders as leaders. Viewing the term ‘outsider’ in a broad sense, the book considers leader background, perspective, gender, training and family membership and examines the implications, challenges and benefits brought by outsider leaders to their respective business environments. The authors explore questions and themes such as how outsider leaders can enrich an organisation, the importance of relationships and adopting a ‘hybrid’ approach, illuminated by interviewee perspectives. Introducing discussion and analysis through these narratives, Outsider Leadership distils commonalities to frame understanding of their experiences.
