Gordon, Susan Groseclose, and Gayle Quay that equips adults who serve in ministry with children ages 8-11 to guide children towards a mature faith through everyday acts of compassion, justice, worship, and devotion under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Covenant Discipleship helps connect children with Jesus Christ and one another through ongoing mutual accountability and support for living in the world as Christ followers. The resource offers leaders in ministry with children suggestions for forming covenants, exploring accountability, evaluations, and a choice of plans to organize, maintain, and evaluate Covenant Discipleship groups with children. This resource also provides a brief background on discipleship, covenants, and society meetings of the Methodist Movement, and can be used as preparation for confirmation.

This book was released on 2018-01-01 with total page 215 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is no higher calling than to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Nothing compares to knowing and following the Savior of the world. To know Him is to love Him, and to follow Him is a wonderful adventure. Still, the discipleship journey is full of pitfalls and snares that threaten to lead us away from the narrow path that leads to heaven. If the devil had his way, every Christian would be lulled to spiritual slumber or led into forbidden paths that would steal the heart away from God. Therefore, even after we are baptized, it is imperative that we continue to grow into active and mature disciples of Christ. The Discipleship Handbook will benefit anyone seeking such an experience with Jesus. It may be used for personal study or in Sabbath schools, prayer meetings, small groups, or one-on-one settings. It is more than a book about discipleship. Rather, it contains everything needed for a six-month, Bible-based discipleship plan for Seventh-day Adventist churches and their members. The Discipleship Handbook was developed to ensure that the most essential areas of discipleship are covered. The devotional life, personal witnessing, church life, Christian lifestyle, and evangelism each receive special emphasis. For newer members, the 26 chapters of the Discipleship Handbook serve as the heart of 26 weekly meetings with a more experienced mentor.

It seems that there are many options available when it comes to information on parenting but, in fact, God s Word is the only reliable source; looking elsewhere will leave you ignorant and confused about how to raise your children. Following the example of your parents is a common choice that leads to repeating their same mistakes. God provides us with all the information needed to succeed at this awesome task, and this Discipleship Workbook is a tool based on His Word to guide you through the Scriptures where you will find the answers you need. Traditional, blended or single parent families will all benefit equally from this information. The Parenting Discipleship Workbook can be used for personal study, as a counseling tool, or as a study guide for a men s or women s group, Sunday school class, or home group. If you commit to learning the material and apply it faithfully, God will not only transform you as a parent, but your entire family will be blessed."

This book was released on 2019 with total page 167 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this thesis project was to equip Christian parents who entrust their children to the educational ministry of Covenant Fellowship Church (CFC) of West Orange, New Jersey, to be more faithful and intentional concerning the discipleship of their children. The project included administering a pre- and post-series survey that measured parents’ growth in understanding and practice of family discipleship. A five-week curriculum was developed to promote this understanding and practice. Chapter 1 introduces the ministry milieu of Covenant Fellowship Church, along with the rationale, purpose, goals, research methodologies, definitions, delimitations, and limitations of the project. Chapter 2 provides the biblical basis for parents to disciple their children. Key Scriptures that were treated include Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Psalm 78:1-8; Ephesians 5:22- 32; and Ephesians 6:1-4. Chapter 3 addresses the relationship of husband and wife and the necessity that both embrace their God-ordained roles so that the relationship of Christ and the church can be faithfully illustrated. It also discusses the particulars of a well- ordered family worship time. The chapter ends by probing the church’s role and best practices for promoting family discipleship. Chapter 4 describes the preparation and delivery of lessons taught to parents, along with what surveys and interviews revealed about the efficacy of the lessons. Chapter 5 concludes with an evaluation of the purpose and goals of the project, along with interpretation of the results of surveys and interviews.Strengths and weaknesses of the project are examined, along with suggestions for improvement.
