Book Synopsis L'Asie du Sud-Est - Capes/Agrégation. Histoire-Géographie by : Nathalie Fau
Download or read book L'Asie du Sud-Est - Capes/Agrégation. Histoire-Géographie written by Nathalie Fau and published by Armand Colin. This book was released on 2019-09-25 with total page 535 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis The Plays from Alienation and Freedom by : Frantz Fanon

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Prior to becoming a psychiatrist, Frantz Fanon wanted to be a playwright and his interest in dialogue, dramatisation and metaphor continued throughout his writing and career. His passion for theatre developed during the years that he was studying medicine, and in 1949 he wrote the plays The Drowning Eye (L'Œil se noie), and Parallel Hands (Les Mains parallèles). This first English translation of the works gives us a Fanon at his most lyrical, experimental and provocative.

Book Synopsis Alienation and Freedom by : Frantz Fanon
Download or read book Alienation and Freedom written by Frantz Fanon and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2018-04-19 with total page 816 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since the publication of The Wretched of the Earth in 1961, Fanon's work has been deeply significant for generations of intellectuals and activists from the 60s to the present day. Alienation and Freedom collects together unpublished works comprising around half of his entire output – which were previously inaccessible or thought to be lost. This book introduces audiences to a new Fanon, a more personal Fanon and one whose literary and psychiatric works, in particular, take centre stage. These writings provide new depth and complexity to our understanding of Fanon's entire oeuvre revealing more of his powerful thinking about identity, race and activism which remain remarkably prescient. Shedding new light on the work of a major 20th-century philosopher, this disruptive and moving work will shape how we look at the world.

Book Synopsis Thailand and the Southeast Asian Networks of The Vietnamese Revolution, 1885-1954 by : Christopher E. Goscha
Download or read book Thailand and the Southeast Asian Networks of The Vietnamese Revolution, 1885-1954 written by Christopher E. Goscha and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-09-05 with total page 435 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christopher Goscha resituates the Vietnamese revolution and war against the French into its Asian context. Breaking with nationalist and colonial historiographies which have largely locked Vietnam into 'Indochinese' or 'Nation-state' straightjackets, Goscha takes Thailand as his point of departure for exploring how the Vietnamese revolution was intimately linked to Asia between the birth of the 'Save the King Movement' in 1885 and the Battle of Dien Bien Phu in 1954. But his study is more than just a political history. Goscha brings geography to bear on his subject with a passion. While he considers the little-known political movements of such well-known faces as Phan Boi Chau and Ho Chi Minh across Southeast Asia, the author takes us into the complex Asian networks stretching from northeastern Thailand and the port of Bangkok to southern China and Hong Kong - and beyond. There, we see how Ho and Chau drew upon an invisible army of Vietnamese and Chinese traders, criminals, prostitutes, sailors and above all the thousands of emigres living in Vietnamese communities in Thailand.
