Une approche g om trique des contraintes utilisant les c nes contingents et le th or me de Nagumo est alors possible. Des exemples simples illustrent les r gles difficiles du calcul des c nes contingents. L'introduction d'une notion de contingence pour un champ de vecteurs continu, caract risable en termes de contingence ext rieure et qui s'applique tout image r ciproque d'un convexe permet une v ritable g n ralisation des r sultats obtenus dans le cas convexe. Des m thodes num riques adapt es sont pr sent es. L'int r t de cette approche a t confirm e dans des travaux publi s ult rieurement et d di s l'analyse de s quences d'images en imagerie m dicale dynamique cardiaque.
