This book was released on 2005 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book excerpt: This book introduces an original fractional calculus methodology (the infinite state approach) which is applied to the modeling of fractional order differential equations (FDEs) and systems (FDSs). Its modeling is based on the frequency distributed fractional integrator, while the resulting model corresponds to an integer order and infinite dimension state space representation. This original modeling allows the theoretical concepts of integer order systems to be generalized to fractional systems, with a particular emphasis on a convolution formulation. With this approach, fundamental issues such as system state interpretation and system initialization – long considered to be major theoretical pitfalls – have been solved easily. Although originally introduced for numerical simulation and identification of FDEs, this approach also provides original solutions to many problems such as the initial conditions of fractional derivatives, the uniqueness of FDS transients, formulation of analytical transients, fractional differentiation of functions, state observation and control, definition of fractional energy, and Lyapunov stability analysis of linear and nonlinear fractional order systems. This second volume focuses on the initialization, observation and control of the distributed state, followed by stability analysis of fractional differential systems.

LES EQUATIONS ELECTRIQUES DECRIVANT LE FONCTIONNEMENT DES MACHINES TOURNANTES CONTIENNENT DES TERMES A COEFFICIENTS NON CONSTANTS ET D'AUTRE QUI SONT UNE FONCTION PERIODIQUE DE L'ANGLE DEFINI PAR LA POSITION DU ROTOR, LA RESOLUTION DE CES EQUATIONS GENERALEMENT DEPENDANTES LES UNES DES AUTRES N'EST DONC PAS AISEE, L'APPROCHE LA PLUS UTILISEE POUR ABORDER CE TYPE DE PROBLEME EST L'ANALYSE MATRICIELLE. LA DEMARCHE CONSISTE A TRANSFORMER LES EQUATIONS DE BASE D'ORDRE ELEVE DE LA MACHINE A L'AIDE D'UNE TRANSFORMATION COMPLEXE A UN SYSTEME D'EQUATIONS DE DIMENSION REDUITE, CETTE TRANSFORMATION FAIT APPEL AU CALCUL MATRICIEL ET AUX TECHNIQUES DE DIAGONALISATION DES MATRICES CIRCULANTES. CETTE ETUDE DECRIT LES COMPORTEMENTS DYNAMIQUES ET ELABORE LES SCHEMAS EQUIVALENTS DE LA MACHINE A SIMPLE CAGE, A DOUBLE CAGE, ET LA MACHINE A DEUX CAGES DECALEES (LES BARRES SONT LOGEES DANS DEUX ENCOCHES DIFFERENTES)

Book excerpt: This book contains the edited versions of the papers presented at the Second International Workshop on Electric and Magnetic Fields held at the Katholieke Universiteit van Leuven (Belgium) in May 1994. This Workshop deals with numerical solutions of electromagnetic problems in real life applications. The topics include coupled problems (thermal, mechanical, electric circuits), CAD & CAM applications, 3D eddy current and high frequency problems, optimisation and application oriented numerical problems. This workshop was organised jointly by the AIM (Association of Engineers graduated from de Montefiore Electrical Institute) together with the Departments of Electrical Engineering of the Katholieke Universiteit van Leuven (Prof. R. Belmans), the University of Gent (Prof. J. Melkebbek) and the University of Liege (Prof. W. Legros). These laboratories are working together in the framework of the Pole d'Attraction Interuniversitaire - Inter-University Attractie-Pole 51 - on electromagnetic systems led by the University of Liege and the research work they perform covers most of the topics of the Workshop. One of the principal aims of this Workshop was to provide a bridge between the electromagnetic device designers, mainly industrialists, and the electromagnetic field computation developers. Therefore, this book contains a continuous spectrum of papers from application of electromagnetic models in industrial design to presentation of new theoretical developments.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book features cutting-edge research presented at the second international conference on Artificial Intelligence in Renewable Energetic Systems, IC-AIRES2018, held on 24–26 November 2018, at the High School of Commerce, ESC-Koléa in Tipaza, Algeria. Today, the fundamental challenge of integrating renewable energies into the design of smart cities is more relevant than ever. While based on the advent of big data and the use of information and communication technologies, smart cities must now respond to cross-cutting issues involving urban development, energy and environmental constraints; further, these cities must also explore how they can integrate more sustainable energies. Sustainable energies are a major determinant of smart cities’ longevity. From an environmental and technological standpoint, these energies offer an optimal power supply to the electric network while creating significantly less pollution. This requires flexibility, i.e., the availability of supply and demand. The end goal of any smart city is to improve the quality of life for all citizens (both in the city and in the countryside) in a way that is sustainable and respectful of the environment. This book encourages the reader to engage in the preservation of our environment, every moment, every day, so as to help build a clean and healthy future, and to think of the future generations who will one day inherit our planet. Further, it equips those whose work involves energy systems and those engaged in modelling artificial intelligence to combine their expertise for the benefit of the scientific community and humanity as a whole.
