Book excerpt: Les antennes dédiées à la guerre électronique (GE), ont des bandes passantes qui peuvent dépasser la décade (rapport 10 entre les fréquences haute et basse), avec une fréquence basse proche d'une centaine de MHz. Les antennes classiques principalement utilisées dans le domaine de la GE font appel à des antennes dites indépendantes de la fréquence, qui sont placées au-dessus d'une cavité absorbante. Cependant, l'épaisseur de la cavité est importante compte tenu de la fréquence basse de fonctionnement de l'antenne utilisée. Ceci complexifie l'intégration de ces antennes sur des porteurs de petite taille où le volume est restreint et la masse un paramètre critique. Afin de concevoir de nouveaux systèmes antennaires dédiés à la GE plus performants, il convient d'opérer une rupture technologique des solutions actuelles. Cette rupture passe par le remplacement de la cavité absorbante qui emploie des matériaux lourds, onéreux et non reproductibles par des solutions innovantes comme celles que proposent les métamateriaux et notamment les conducteurs magnétiques artificiels (CMA). Pour nos travaux, nous avons sélectionné deux antennes, une antenne spirale d'Archimède et une antenne sinueuse. Une analyse du champ proche de ces deux antennes a été proposée et validée partiellement par une mesure innovante. Cette analyse a permis de donner une loi de variation de la zone active de l'antenne à grande proximité de celle-ci, afin de pouvoir dimensionner un réflecteur placé au plus près de l'antenne. Nous avons présenté et validé les différents types de réflecteurs qui peuvent être associés à ce type d'antenne, qu'il s'agisse d'un conducteur électrique parfait (CEP), ou d'un conducteur m.

L'intégration d'antenne bande basse sur porteur constitue donc un enjeu majeur. Les antennes classiques dédiées a la guerre électronique font habituellement appel a des antennes dites " indépendantes de la fréquence " chargées par une cavité absorbante. Les travaux présentes dans ce manuscrit ont pour but de supprimer les absorbants présents dans les antennes pour a la fois augmenter leur efficacité et réduire leur épaisseur. Nos recherches se sont orientés vers les matériaux dits " artificiels ", les conducteurs magnétiques artificiels (CMA) et des matériaux a bandes interdites électromagnétiques (BIE), permettant la réalisation pratique de réflecteur magnétique. Apres un état de l'art sur les méthodes analytiques, numériques et expérimentales, nous étudions le comportement de l'antenne spirale d'Archimède en espace libre puis en présence de réflecteurs théoriques: conducteur électrique parfait et conducteur magnétique parfait. Nous avons proposé et validé expérimentalement une méthodologie innovante pour la conception d'antenne large bande faible épaisseur. Enfin, nous avons présenté un réflecteur hybride exploitant les propriétés des conducteurs électriques et magnétiques afin d'étendre la bande de fréquences des antennes

Cependant, il souffre encore de quelques défauts : - La non régularité de la géométrie de la cellule sur la surface du réseau, dans le cas d'une antenne passive, peut engendrer des dégradations sur le diagramme de rayonnement, surtout à la transition entre deux géométries extrêmes, lorsqu'un nouveau cycle de phase commence. - Le nombre relativement élevé de composants utilisés pour contrôler la phase de l'onde réfléchie, dans le cas d'une antenne reconfigurable, augmente le coût de fabrication de l'antenne et complexifie le circuit de commande des éléments reconfigurables. - La limitation en bande passante, qui a longtemps cantonné ce type d'antenne à des applications bande étroite, est principalement liée au comportement de la cellule unitaire constitutive du réseau. Dans cette thèse, nous nous intéressons donc à la conception de nouvelles topologies de cellules déphaseuses, passives et surtout reconfigurables, qui permettent, tout en conservant une relative simplicité de réalisation, d'offrir une large bande passante. De plus, le contrôle de la phase, dans le cas des cellules reconfigurables, doit être réalisé avec un nombre réduit de composants afin de respecter la contrainte de faible coût de fabrication.
