Book excerpt: Dive into a compelling narrative that traverses the depths of adversity to the pinnacle of empowerment. In this captivating tale, unconditional love takes center stage, transcending the superficial boundaries of race, gender, religion, and social status. Through the lens of trauma and tolerance, witness the remarkable journey of resilience and growth as one individual defies the odds to embrace change and transformation. Picture this, the story unfolds in 1963, amidst the backdrop of racial strife and personal tragedy. Born into a tumultuous world, a young girl finds herself orphaned at a tender age, navigating the harsh realities of loss and abandonment. Raised in a fractured environment, she grapples with the truth of her existence, seeking solace in substances. In this book you will discover the transformative power of resilience, diversity, and unconditional love. Join the central character on a quest for authenticity and belonging, as she navigates the complexities of identity and forges her own path to greatness. Through her extraordinary journey she finds hope, inspiration, and the courage to embrace love. The central character’s mother welcomed her eleventh child into the world, a beautiful and healthy baby girl. Each pregnancy presented its own set of complications. Despite being warned by doctors about the dangers of further pregnancies, two years later, she gave birth to her twelfth child. Tragically, she passed away shortly after childbirth. Left orphaned at the age of two, the girl found herself living with older siblings. The man her mother had chosen as a partner was an absentee father, consumed by alcoholism and devoid of support. Fast forward to 1978, she was 15 years old, orphaned, fractured, and living from pillar to post. Enduring pain and trauma for a number of years she chose to cloak herself in substances to hide the pain of her existence. Amidst her turmoil, a beacon of hope emerges in the form of an unexpected ally – Dr. Susan A Wheelan, an Irish, lesbian, psychologist with a heart of gold. Through her unwavering support and mentorship, the young girl embarks on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. Graduating high school against all odds, she finds refuge and belonging in a new home, defying societal expectations and claiming her sense of identity. As she adapts to her newfound environment, the young girl confronts the complexities of diversity and inclusion. Encountering prejudice and resistance, she learns invaluable lessons about acceptance, compassion, and unconditional love. Together with her adoptive mother, they navigate the challenges of interracial adoption, forging a bond built on mutual respect and understanding. Through perseverance and determination, the young girl emerges as a beacon of inspiration, transcending the confines of her past to embrace a future filled with limitless possibilities. Armed with the wisdom imparted by her mother, she embarks on a journey of self-realization, harnessing her innate potential to uplift others and effect positive change in the world.

Pope Francis met with French reporter and sociologist Dominique Wolton for an unprecedented series of twelve fascinating and timely conversations—open dialogues revolving around the political, cultural, and religious issues dominating communication and conflict around the world—now published in A Future of Faith: The Path of Change in Politics and Society. Inspiring and insightful, Pope Francis’s views on immigration, poverty, diversity, globalization, and more are borne from his Christian faith and basic humanity. Meeting the challenges of the twenty-first century requires compassion for those in need, a willingness to work towards common goals without domineering other cultures, and the ability to negotiate with trust, respect, and dignity. And for the first time, Pope Francis shares insights into his own personality, and the formation of his faith, including his experience with psychotherapy, and some of the most important women in his upbringing. Controversial, bold, personal, and illuminating— A Future of Faith will serve to be essential reading for not only Catholics, but those who want to see how the “people’s pope” confronts the social injustices of the world with the foresight to create positive change.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Writing to Awaken is an inspirational investigation of the self through expressive writing, guiding you along the path of awakening through radical truth-telling and self-inquiry. With targeted and revelatory questions, you’ll be prompted to explore your own personal narrative—to write honestly about your deepest wounds, greatest challenges, hidden gifts, yearnings, and opportunities for growth—in order to discover a deeply authentic understanding of yourself and move toward a more liberated, truthful life. We each have our own story, a personal myth constructed from the content life presents us: we connect dots to shape the narrative, devise plotlines from circumstance, change characters, fashion conflicts, and adjust structure, settings, and themes as our lives unfold. But so often, over time, we come to believe that we are our story, identifying so strongly with the tales we’ve told ourselves and others that we cling to them for our very existence—even when they don’t quite fit. The realization that there’s a discrepancy between the narrative you’ve crafted and your authentic self can be disconcerting at first, but the exploration of that gap is a doorway to personal freedom, and this book will lead you through it. The writing exercises in this guide, one for nearly every week of the year, ask you to tell the whole truth about your experience. In doing so, you’ll come to realize that once you engage in this radical truth-telling, expressing yourself with complete honesty, your story changes; and when your story changes, your life is transformed. Rather than sticking with your illusive and tricky “Story of Me,” you’ll be prompted to go even deeper, piercing your personal myth and illuminating aspects of psyche and spirit that give way to profound moments of understanding and personal healing. This is not a how-to book for writers; it’s an invitation on a journey of self-discovery—a guide to facing yourself without flinching, accepting yourself as you are, surrendering to what is, and daring to question and transform what isn’t true. With Writing to Awaken, you’ll learn how to break free from the trance of mistaken identity and discover your essential, authentic self.

In Experience Your Bible, the McDowells proclaim God's original design—the Scriptures are his way to reveal himself so he can enjoy a relationship with people. The authors show how the Bible can radically transform believers' lives: Intimacy. God created humans such that an intimate relationship with him is their only route to meaningful life. His written Word enables this relationship. Relational experience. We must obey God's commands. Yet he also wants us to relationally experience things like acceptance, joy, and comfort with him and other believers. Growth in love. Josh and Sean highlight the Holy Spirit's role in illuminating the Scriptures. They present proven tools to help readers study and "accurately handle the word of truth." Above all, they emphasize that study is the journey to help Christians more deeply love the author of the Bible, God himself. When Christians experience the Bible and its author, they find wisdom, meaning, and fulfillment in life. A key tool for pastors, leaders, parents, and youth workers—anyone wanting to proclaim and experience the life- and culture-changing Christianity the Bible reveals.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are 8 degrees of desire to live one's life, and illusions/perceptions can be broken free through sharing personal stories. This book explains the degrees and how to identify which degree your desire to live your life may fall into at this present moment. Also, My own personal story of transformation is used as a path way to explain how to increase desire. There was a transitioning point in my life in which I looked out of my bedroom window and I stated, "I want to live life to the fullest, whatever that means to my soul!" The keys to eternal transformation are in my story of spiritual journey and change. The secret to a full life is in this book. It can be simply described as the universe responds to the degree of your desire to live your life. If life gives persistent experiences that induce fear of lack, death, survival, and heartache, individuals began to see that, as the truth of life. They fall into an illusion that needs to be broken. They become hopeless of never having joy, love, or forgiveness. But, the truth is that our souls need lessons that push us to express. If we lose our path, then we fall to fate. My new theory emerged from years of study and, review of my own journals, during transformation. I kept journals from January 2014 to April 2016, and still journal today. When one sets intentions, shares their stories, they break free from illusion, and are set free!

Why do some individuals and teams succeed more quickly than others and sustain that success over the long term? 2. Of those who pull it off, why are some miserable and others consistently happy on their journey? 3. What motivates people to reach for higher levels of success in the first place, and what practices help them improve the most After extensive original research and a decade as the world’s leading high performance coach, Burchard found the answers. It turns out that just six deliberate habits give you the edge. Anyone can practice these habits and, when they do, extraordinary things happen in their lives, relationships, and careers. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Deep, personal pain is very real for men. So is the power to transform it. In one of the opening meditations of this book, male spirituality expert Richard Rohr writes, “We need to fail, to fall, to jump into the central mystery of our own existence, or we’ll have no way of finding our true path.” Those words serve as the starting point for a potentially transformative experience, one in which men come to grips with the fact that some form of suffering or letting go is essential to achieving wholeness, holiness, and happiness. With nearly every man dealing with some form of hurt in his life, On the Threshold of Transformation acknowledges the pain and deals with it directly and redemptively. While much of our culture today would have us believe that failure and suffering are inherently bad, Fr. Rohr helps men see that pain—in whatever form it takes—is a primary doorway through which they can pass to reach their authentic, best selves, which is where they will truly encounter God. Ultimately, this book of 366 daily meditations helps men learn how to transform their pain so they don’t pass it on. With Fr. Rohr as their guide, the path to male spiritual transformation can be found and followed.
