Book Synopsis Advancements in the Science and Technology of Conjugated Polymers by : Nimisha Kaippamangalath
Download or read book Advancements in the Science and Technology of Conjugated Polymers written by Nimisha Kaippamangalath and published by . This book was released on 2022-06 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pi-conjugated polymers (PCPs) are organic macromolecular systems characterized by backbone chains with alternating single and double bonds and are fascinating materials for energy-related applications. The first chapter shall help those readers who are new to the domain of PCPs to assimilate the fundamental features and the excellent opportunities associated with such macrosystems. The dynamic domain of conjugated porous polymers, versatile photocatalysts, is discussed in Chapter 3. The synthetic strategies, functional modifications, characteristics, and recent applications of poly(oxadiazole)s and poly(indolocarbazole)s have been presented in Chapter 4. A basic understanding of the photophysics of conjugated polymer nanoparticles and the related fabrication routes are illustrated in Chapter 5, followed by the illustration of the theory behind the utilization for modeling and simulation in Chapter 6.
Book Synopsis Polymeric Nanoparticles and Microspheres by : P. Guiot
Download or read book Polymeric Nanoparticles and Microspheres written by P. Guiot and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-01-18 with total page 217 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Contributors were asked to emphasize their own experience with nanoparticles or microspheres. They were also encouraged to provide aspects normally not stipulated in specialized reviews. The objective was to produce a book which although written by specialists, presented a subject which could be easily understood by people in different fields of life sciences. Another goal was to set up a condensed work covering many aspects of nanoparticles and microspheres. That is the reason why, although mainly dealing with synthetic drug carriers, the first chapter is related to preparation and physicochemical properties of nanoparticles constructed from natural polymers. This is followed by two chapters involving the application of polymeric drug carriers in cancer therapy. The second chapter extensively describes in vitro and in vivo behaviour of purely synthetic nanoparticles. As ub the case of liposomes, a problem can be that some particles are preferentially taken up by the reticuloendothelial system. Magnetic drug carriers provide a partial answer to this problem since their tropism can be managed by an external magnet. The third chapter is entirely devoted to this aspect. A brief but original application of nanoparticles is given in the fourth chapter by reviewing their use in ocular therapy. Finally, two general applications of polymeric microspheres are discussed in chapters 5 and 6.
