Book excerpt: La investigacion realizada fue un estudio descriptivo que identifico las concepciones de los docentes del nivel de educacion primaria analizandolas en torno a la Integracion Educativa y las Necesidades Educativas Especiales. Se considero la participacion de 40 profesores integrantes de 4 escuelas primarias del Puerto de Veracruz. El proposito fue puntualizar en que consiste la Integracion Educativa en Mexico, contrastandola con la significacion que los profesores tienen de la tematica; logrando ademas una aproximacion teorica desde una perspectiva critica, utilizando a la Teoria y Pedagogia Critica y el Analisis de Discurso. Los datos obtenidos demuestran que existe pluralidad de concepciones en torno a la Integracion Educativa (IE) y las Necesidades Educativas Especiales (NEE), las cuales son tomadas todavia como sinonimo de educacion especial y discapacidad, por otra parte, hay desconocimiento del proceso de identificacion y atencion de las mismas, dando como resultado la falta de formacion en los docentes, pero reconociendo la existencia de ideas propositivas para solucionar la problematica que se presenta en las aulas en torno a las NEE .

Book excerpt: Based on twenty case studies of universities worldwide, and on a survey administered to leaders in 101 universities, this open access book shows that, amidst the significant challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, universities found ways to engage with schools to support them in sustaining educational opportunity. In doing so, they generated considerable innovation, which reinforced the integration of the research and outreach functions of the university. The evidence suggests that universities are indeed open systems, in interaction with their environment, able to discover changes that can influence them and to change in response to those changes. They are also able, in the success of their efforts to mitigate the educational impact of the pandemic, to create better futures, as the result of the innovations they can generate. This challenges the view of universities as "ivory towers" being isolated from the surrounding environment and detached from local problems. As they reached out to schools, universities not only generated clear and valuable innovations to sustain educational opportunity and to improve it, this process also contributed to transform internal university processes in ways that enhanced their own ability to deliver on the third mission of outreach

The move from policy texts to policy in action involves sophisticated processes of interpretation and translation, as well as, at times, opposition, subversion and strategic compliance.
