Book Synopsis Coordination Programming: Mechanisms, Models And Semantics by : Jean-marc Andreoli
Download or read book Coordination Programming: Mechanisms, Models And Semantics written by Jean-marc Andreoli and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1996-08-30 with total page 397 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Coordination, considered abstractly, is an ubiquitous notion in computer science: for example, programming languages coordinate elementary instructions; operating systems coordinate accesses to hardware resources; database transaction schedulers coordinate accesses to shared data; etc. All these situations have some common features, which can be identified at the abstract level as “coordination mechanisms”. This book focuses on a class of coordination models where multiple pieces of software coordinate their activities through some shared dataspace. The book has three parts. Part 1 presents the main coordination models studied in this book (Gamma, LO, TAO, LambdaN). Part 2 focuses on various semantics aspects of coordination, applied mainly to Gamma. Part 3 presents actual implementations of coordination models and an application.

This book was released on 1995-03-27 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Maintaining the United States' strong lead in information technology will require continued federal support of research in this area, most of which is currently funded under the High Performance Computing and Communications Initiative (HPCCI). The Initiative has already accomplished a great deal and should be continued. This book provides 13 major recommendations for refining both HPCCI and support of information technology research in general. It also provides a good overview of the development of HPCC technologies.

Book Synopsis Children with Developmental Coordination Disorder by : Cheryl Missiuna
Download or read book Children with Developmental Coordination Disorder written by Cheryl Missiuna and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-05-13 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Take a cognitive approach to treating children with DCD!Developmental coordination disorder (DCD) is frustrating for the children who must deal with it every day, for their parents, and for the professionals who work with these children. Children with Developmental Coordination Disorder offers new hope to children who are exeriencing this distinctive movement skill syndrome. It suggests ways they can overcome the challenges they encounter wherever motor skills are needed: in the classroom, on the playground, and at home doing self-care.This groundbreaking volume challenges pediatric therapists to examine the assessment and intervention approaches that are currently being used with children who have DCD. Children with Developmental Coordination Disorder offers new model that draws on research in the fields of motor learning, educational psychology, cognitive strategies, and occupational therapy. In addition to theoretical background, this book provides a detailed protocol for CO-OP (Cognitive Orientation to Daily Occupational Performance), an intervention that has been shown to facilitate problem-solving and enhance motor skill acquisition for children with DCD. Children with Developmental Coordination Disorder offers a comprehensive discussion of the disorder, including: identification and assessment of children with DCD analysis of the Bruininks Osortesky Test of Motor Proficiency and the Movement Assessment Battery for Children the theoretical and empirical basis for current treatment approaches new motor learning theories and their implications for treatment the systematic development and evaluation of the CO-OP approach, from early case studies through videotape analysis and retrospective chart review Based on six years of systematic, cooperative research, Children with Developmental Coordination Disorder demonstrates the success of a unique cognitive approach to intervention with these frustrated children.
Book Synopsis Distributed Intelligent Systems by : Abdellah Bedrouni
Download or read book Distributed Intelligent Systems written by Abdellah Bedrouni and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-08-12 with total page 185 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Distributed Intelligent Systems: A Coordination Perspective comprehensively answers commonly asked questions about coordination in agent-oriented distributed systems. Characterizing the state-of-the-art research in the field of coordination with regard to the development of distributed agent-oriented systems is a particularly complex endeavour; while existing books deal with specific aspects of coordination, the major contribution of this book lies in the attempt to provide an in-depth review covering a wide range of issues regarding multi-agent coordination in Distributed Artificial Intelligence. Key features: Unveils the lack of coherence and order that characterizes the area of research pertaining to coordination of distributed intelligent systems Examines coordination models, frameworks, strategies and techniques to enable the development of distributed intelligent agent-oriented systems Provides specific recommendations to realize more widespread deployment of agent-based systems
