Book excerpt: L'etude abordee dans ce memoire concerne le couplage fluide - structure applique au cas d'une eolienne a axe horizontale sous l'effet d'une rafale de vent d'une courte duree. Dans un premier temps, nous presentons des simulations numeriques d'un ecoulement bidimensionnel, incompressible et turbulent autour de pale dont le profil est de type naca 4415 a sections variables. Le maillage de l'ecoulement est structure autour du profil et non-structure loin du profil, tandis que le maillage de la pale est effectue par des elements poutre. Ces investigations concernent les cas stationnaire et instationnaire. Apres avoir valide les resultats aerodynamiques issus d'un code de calcul par comparaison avec des resultats experimentaux disponibles dans la litterature, la programmation d'une technique de parametrisation a permis de predire correctement les coefficients de portance, de trainee et de tangage. Les coefficients sont evalues en fonction de l'angle d'attaque, de la vitesse relative du vent, de la position le long de la pale et du temps. Le code de calcul utilise est appele ns-2d.

L'amélioration de ses algorithmes de commande est considérée comme un moyen prometteur permettant de réduire le coût de l'énergie produite par une éolienne à vitesse variable et à régulation pitch. En effet, ses lois de commande visent à la fois à optimiser la conversion de l'énergie et à réduire les charges dynamiques responsables de la fatigue mécanique subie par la structure de l'éolienne.Le fonctionnement d'une éolienne à vitesse variable se décompose en trois zones de fonctionnement, suivant la vitesse du vent traversant son rotor, et pour lesquelles les objectifs de commande sont différents. Ainsi, trois contrôleurs LPV commutant sont conçus de manière à garantir au système la stabilité, un certain niveau de performance H2 et Hinf et de robustesse vis à vis des incertitudes de modélisation sur la totalité de la zone de fonctionnement. Les paramètres des contrôleurs sont calculés par une procédure d'optimisation convexe du problème de commande formulé par des LMIs, et à partir d'une description LPV du comportement du système représentant ses non-linéarités et les flexibilités des principaux composants de sa structure mécanique (pales, arbre et mat). Un compensateur anti-windup LPV est aussi synthétisé de manière à assurer un niveau de performance lors de la saturation en vitesse de l'actionneur pitch causée par une rafale de vent.Les résultats des simulations effectuées sur un modèle d'éolienne de 400kW, montrent que le système de commande conçu permet d'améliorer sensiblement les performances du système, particulièrement en terme de réduction de la fatigue mécanique.
