Walp., dotadas de maiores recursos geneticos para uso em areas de sequeiro e/ou irrigada foi instalado, nos municipios de Missao Velha, Russas, Quixada e Tiangua, CE, ano agricola de 1993, um ensaio com doze materiais, sendo dez linhas (CNCx 682-24G, CNCx 698-128G, CNCx 750-24G, CNCx 764-27G, CNCx 788-1E, CNCx 788-8E, CNCx 870-1E, CNCx 879-7E, CNCx 870-10E, CNCx 797-11E) e duas cultivares, como testemunhas locais. Em Missao Velha, o ensaio foi instalado sob condicoes de sequeiro e irrigada; em Russas, apenas irrigada; e em Tiangua e Quixada, somente sequeiro. Adotou-se o delineamento em blocos ao acaso com quatro repeticoes. As plantas foram arranjadas no espacamento de 1,00 m entre fileiras por 0,50 m entre covas, com excecao do experimento de Russas que foi de 0,30 m, deixando-se duas plantas por cova apos o desbaste. As unidades experimentais constituiram-se de quatro fileiras, sendo consideradas como uteis as duas centrais. Dados foram coletados para as seguintes variaveis agronomicas: floracao inicial, tipo de planta, maturacao inicial, comprimento de vagens, numero de sementes por vagem, peso de 100 graos e producao.
