Book Synopsis The Chemistry of Iron, Cobalt and Nickel by : D. Nicholls
Download or read book The Chemistry of Iron, Cobalt and Nickel written by D. Nicholls and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-02 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Chemistry of Iron, Cobalt and Nickel deals with the chemistry of iron, cobalt, and nickel and covers topics ranging from the occurrence and distribution of all three elements to their properties, allotropy, and analytical chemistry. Compounds of iron, cobalt, and nickel in both low and high oxidation states are also discussed. This book is divided into three sections and begins with the history of iron, along with its occurrence and distribution, allotropy, and preparation and industrial production. The nuclear, physical, and chemical properties of iron, as well as the biological importance of iron compounds, are also considered. Compounds of iron are discussed, including carbonyls and nitric oxide complexes. The next two sections deal with the history, occurrence and distribution, allotropy, analytical chemistry, and preparation and industrial production of cobalt and nickel, along with their nuclear, physical, and chemical properties. Compounds of cobalt and nickel are examined, from carbonyls and nitrosyls to cyanides and organometallic compounds. This monograph will be a useful resource for inorganic chemists.

Book Synopsis Coordination Chemistry of Macrocyclic Compounds by : Gordon Melson
Download or read book Coordination Chemistry of Macrocyclic Compounds written by Gordon Melson and published by Springer. This book was released on 1979-10 with total page 688 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chemists have been aware of the existence of coordination compounds con taining organic macrocyclic ligands since the first part of this century ; however, only during the past few years have they expanded research into the chemistry of these compounds. The expansion was initiated in the early 1960s by the synthesis and characterization of compounds containing some new macrocyclic ligands. The synthesis of compounds which may serve as model systems for some natural products containing large rings as ligands provided the main goal for the early expansion of research effort; indeed, a recurrent theme behind much of the reported chemistry has been the analogy between synthetic macrocyclic compounds and many natural-product systems. More recently, the emphases of reported research have ranged over the whole spectrum of chemistry, and the number of publications that discuss macrocyclic chemistry has increased at a dramatic rate. The completed research has been reported in a variety of journals throughout the world but there has been no previous attempt to bring the major developments together under one cover. This book, therefore, attempts to satisfy the need for a single source in which there is both a collection and a correlation of information concerning the coordination chemistry of macrocyclic compounds. The chapters in this book discuss various aspects of macrocyclic chemistry, and while these chapters as a whole constitute an in-depth survey of the state-of the-art of the field, each chapter is written as a complete unit.

Book Synopsis Vanillin- Aminoquinoline Schiff Bases and their Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) Complexes by : Dr. S. N. Battin
Download or read book Vanillin- Aminoquinoline Schiff Bases and their Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) Complexes written by Dr. S. N. Battin and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2019-09-25 with total page 282 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Coordination chemistry and metal complexes is one of the active fields of research in Chemistry. The scope of this field has now become so broad that the number and the kind of compounds with which it is concerned is large enough for the metal compounds and complexes to gain importance in clinical, pharmacological, medicinal, analytical and industrial areas. Schiff bases are most widely used as chelating agents in coordination chemistry. The synthesis and application of Schiff base and their coordination compounds have been highly considered in inorganic and bioinorganic fields as their structural properties are similar to those of the compounds involved in biological systems. The transition metal complexes of Schiff bases derived from heterocyclic compounds have been the centre of attraction for many workers in recent years.
