Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Common Condition Of Today's Secular Society As many pundits have noted, over the last 60 years we have seen a growing secularism, and in fact anti-religious fervor gain traction in the United States. The accelerated momentum of this movement has run head into the Judeo/Christian heritage established by the Country's founders. The push back from the Christian community and traditionalists, deemed by some to be the 'cultural wars', has been at best tepid. Many conservatives have conceded that the secularists have made progress. Often appearing as rigid and doctrinaire, traditionalists can't seem to counter the compelling mantra, "if it feels good and does not hurt anybody-- than why not do it " In actuality the above mantra is less shallow and self serving than it first may sound. I believe that it is the basis of most common behavior in the US today and more so around the World. Some students of the Bible will remind that this philosophy has fueled mankind's common behavior from creation? Did not the Jews begin an orgy of decadence and idol worship when Moses was not looking and was away receiving the Ten Commandments on Mt. Sinai? Did not the Nazis consider the Jews less than human so that when they were secretly exterminating them in the gas chambers it was OK - because the Third Reich believed that only the Arian race was in fact human? Therefore killing millions of Jews was not really "hurting anybody" because they weren't killing real people. The dangers of this relativist mentality are not readily apparent - therefore relativism is the common denominator propelling mankind into a new more dangerous age. Spiritual Walk leads to Uncommon Sense I have taken the time to establish this foundation because if you are beginning your walk in faith -the above will sound very unappealing. BUT this book can provide you, the reader with some very important tips about how to obtain an uncommon sense of peace in today's troubled world. Frankly we believe that it can only be achieved by carefully reading scripture and letting it speak to you. Though this thought today is uncommon - except to a remnant of a diminishing culture - both the author and I know it to be absolutely true. Since I have known the author for over 30 years I can speak authoritatively when I tell you that she is one who traveled extensively in her youth and experienced the real human tragedy emanating from the pagan relativist mantra. She is not a person who is "judgmental." But through her journey and walk she has seen that pagan secularism does in fact hurt people, damage families, increase the early termination of life via abortion, lead to societal breakdown and most surely stirs personal chaos and unrest. She has evolved into one of the most uncommonly spiritual women that I have ever known. Her book works for her. This book is a great beginning to those seeking answers and/or can be an old friend to those who have realized that the fruits of wisdom do not derive from the common world. Common sense grows from a spiritual journey that cannot be fully realized via intellectual debate or over thinking the human condition. That is why "Common Sense is NOT so Common."

Book excerpt: Excerpt from Common Sense Thoughts on the Bible for Common Sense People There is nothing more sacred than truth. We should love it above all things, and be willing to make any sacrifice for its sake. We should abide by its teachings, how far soever they may lead us from what some men call ortho doxy, and into what the same men call heterodoxy. For truth is a blessing to all, being the perception of things as they are: but error is a constant curse, Whether in the beggar's heart or the doctor's; spoken by the fireside, or from the tasselled pulpit. We never can be sure that our ideas are correct, or our beliefs true, until we have examined them fairly, and scruti nized them without prejudice; otherwise we may be hug ging an error to our bosoms, because we were taught it, and casting the truth from us with disdain. The more nearly allied to our present welfare and future happiness any thing is or professes to be, the more narrowly should we examine, the more carefully should we investigate it; remembering that there is nothing good that is false, and that awise man will always be glad to exchange an error for a truth. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The heresy of heresies was common sense." --George Orwell, 1984. This book is a defense of common-sense realism, which is the greatest heresy of our time. Following common-sense philosophers like Thomas Aquinas, G. K. Chesterton, C. S. Lewis, Dallas Willard, and J. P. Moreland, this book defends a common-sense vision of reality within the Christian tradition. Mosteller shows how common-sense realism is more reasonable than the materialist, idealist, pragmatist, existentialist, and relativist spirits of our age. It maintains that we can know the nature of reality through common-sense experience and that this knowledge has profound implication for living the good life and being a good person.

What if I told you there was tons of stuff in the Bible that you’ve never heard about? Things like talking donkeys, self-conscious magicians, and kings who think they’re cows. The Bible is a curious book full of deeply flawed people and a God who refuses to give up on them. Don’t believe me? Look for yourself. In these 60 devotions, we examine these unique stories, the circumstances and biblical truth around them, and what they reveal about the heart of God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many religious beliefs and views upon Christianity lead many of us divided over who we believe is right or wrong. Common Sense Christianity doesn't need to do this. It is right for right's sake. A short summation of Old and New Testament Books set the stage for a Victory. Just what was mortal, what was immortal, and what was eternal? Our mortality needed a sense of conclusion, to unravel the immortal and eternal areas from a "framework of mind" that doesn't make sense to us. Since it is of an "immortal frame of mind" it wasn't supposed to make sense to us. Many of us struggle to be happy for something because we think we should. But we feel differently. Some parts of the Bible leave us perplexed when we are supposed to feel "alright" about our feelings. Within a broader picture, just living life and going to church can leave us thinking differently than what we feel. The two need to co-exist with harmony in order to make any sense of anything. In life, "groups of people" may abide by their "rules"; that maybe had been passed down from one generation to the next. As time changes, their interpretations in many cases remain the same. When anything is perceived to stay on a pedestal, while remaining the same over time, it's perceived importance will never adapt to change. If it isn't allowed to be taken in as input, and used to create output, it will continue keeping everything old. "Making sense" allows us to adapt to change and build our futures, using ideas of the past to help us, but also avoiding ideas of the past that could hurt us. By doing this we can progress without the fear of becoming a product of the past, but rather a leader of the future. A rule can only be answered twice. As one's perception revitalizes the past, a "revitalized" rule of the past may have an infinite number of answers. With insight, a rule of the past can become a guide to the future. By owning it we can use it, revitalize it, and envision something even bigger and better. But, if we don't than it very well may own us. Common Sense Christianity will iron out any "snag" that you may have ever had about Christianity and the Bible. Believing and feeling often times contradict, and that restricts our energy, leaving us tired. Common Sense Christianity is inspiring; adding resources and emotion that are needed to formulate any healthy expression. Especially with what we care about the most.

They ask questions such as: does God really exist? What is the Trinity? What is Hell? What does it mean to speak in tongues? Is baptism necessary? Is Homosexuality really so bad? The answers to these controversial questions and others were revealed many centuries ago in the Holy Scriptures. WouldnA[a¬a[t you agree that anyone who would adhere to the principles of the Christian faith must first understand what those principles are? Common Sense Christianity can hopefully explain some of those principles. It is my sincerest hope that your journey will continue until we meet in heaven.

Book excerpt: "... the flames of freedom are dying. We cry that Washington has failed us, but that is not where the blame lies. With our rights, We the People were given the duty to maintain them. We the People are the problem. And We the People are the solution. Our republic will be restored not through political revolution, but through a revolution of the soul-- not as we point fingers upward, but as we turn inward. In an age of blame, this is uncommon sense. And it's precisely what America needs to rekindle her light" -- Cover, p. [4]
