Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Your goal is to have a method that gives you a complete and clear picture of the situation of a commodity or spread? That's what you will learn reading "Commodity Spread Trading - The Correct Method of Analysis." "The Correct Method of Analysis" completes the path on Commodity Spread Trading; after the theory, the practice. In this second volume, you will see explained a very valid method of analysis of a commodity or spread. You cannot reduce the trading with the commodities to a standard strategy to always follow, in automatic, because the variables that can affect, for example, the crops or livestock are many. As it is wrong, to reduce the spread trading to the seasonal trades recommended by Moore Research, SeasonAlgo or SpreadCharts, to their entry and exit dates. Trading in commodities is more complex and requires more data to get the complete picture of the situation, to have the odds on your side. In "The Correct Method of Analysis", I show you a method of analysis in four steps which is the result of over 25 years of experience (even as a fund manager) in the financial markets, especially in commodities, and which led me in 2018 to collaborate with one of the most important European investment companies. But not only. I will demonstrate to you how, to consider only the spreads recommended by Moore Research, SeasonAlgo and SpreadCharts limits the spread trading a lot and precludes many other opportunities. In the examples, I tried to convey to you all my experience, by explaining important aspects that will improve your trading with commodities. What you will learn by reading "Commodity Spread Trading - The Correct Method of Analysis": - the study of seasonality; - fundamental analysis; - term structure analysis; - contango distribution; - how to trade the anomalies; - and other important aspects through several examples. You will see how I analyse a commodity or spread before opening a trade.

Book excerpt: "Harmonic Patterns Strategy" is the first volume of the series "Trading with the Trendlines." The book explains a strategy applicable in every market (forex, equities, commodity...), based on a harmonic pattern and trendline. You will see the harmonic patterns from a different perspective. The strategy, in fact, seeks to exploit the completion of a Gartley or Butterfly, trying to ride the last leg. What you are going to read in the book is, therefore, my interpretation of this type of pattern. A way to predict a future movement of a market, and that I have studied after observing many similar situations, and to have identified, under certain conditions, a subsequent trend common to most cases. Easy and clear is the identification of the target profit and stop-loss of the strategy. Not only. Depending on your account, I will also explain to you the correct position sizing, for proper money management. If you are a beginner, do not worry; the first two chapters will provide you with adequate knowledge for understanding the strategy and using it correctly. Do not be tricked by the fact that the book is free. The strategy, if you use it correctly and with money management appropriate to your account, will give you a high percentage of profitable trades. However, it is recommended to combine the strategy with the fundamental analysis and open a position only if both give the same signal.

Book excerpt: You can make large profits by trading commodities--but you’ll need significant practical knowledge of the associated risks and market characteristics before you start.A Trader’s First Book on Commoditiesis a simple, practical and useful guide for new commodities traders. Author Carley Garner provides specific guidance on accessing commodity markets cost-effectively, avoiding common beginners’ mistakes, and improving the odds of successful, profitable trades. Drawing on her extensive experience teaching traders, Garner shows how to calculate profit, loss, and risk in commodities, and choose the best brokerage firm, service level, data sources, and market access for your needs. She’ll help you: · Master the basics of trading commodities painlessly, avoiding beginners mistakes · Get what you need, and prevent paying for what you don’t need · Know what you’re buying, what it costs, the returns you’re earning and the risk you’re taking · Predict price, manage risk, and make trades that reflect your analysis Garner demystifies the industry’s colorful language, helps you clearly understand what you’re buying and selling, and walks you through the entire trading process. She concludes with a refreshingly new look at topics such as trading plans, handling margin calls, and even maintaining emotional stability as a trader. “This book provides the type of information every trader needs to know and the type of information too many traders had to learn the hard and expensive way. Carley offers practical need-to-know, real-world trading tips that are lacking in many books on futures. It will help not only the novice trader, but seasoned veterans as well. This book will serve as a must-have reference in every trader’s library.” --Phil Flynn, Vice President and Senior Market analyst at PFGBest Research, and a Fox Business Network contributor “Refreshing–It’s nice to see a broker who has actually been exposed to the professional side of trading and who bridges that chasm between exchange floor trading and customer service. Carley takes the time to explain verbiage, not just throw buzz words around. A good educational read in my opinion.” --Don Bright, Director, Bright Trading, LLC “This book has the perfect name, the perfect message, and the necessary information for any beginning trader. Take this book home!” --Glen Larson, President, Genesis Financial Technologies, Inc. “As a 35-year veteran of the CME/CBOT trading floor, I can tell you…those who think they can begin trading commodities without knowing the less talked about topics that Carley discusses inA Trader’s First Book on Commoditiesare sadly mistaken. Anyone who trades their own account, or would like to, should read this book.” --Danny Riley, DT Trading

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you want to know what the best seasonal spreads for 2021 are? "Commodity Spread Trading - The Best Seasonal Spreads for 2021" by David Carli Book printed in full colour. Seasonality for commodities is certainly an advantage which no other financial market possesses. However, we should nonetheless distinguish and separate, amongst the many seasonal windows, those that are backed by motivations that go beyond the price trend on a chart from those that are mere statistics. This is what I always attempt to do in my own trading with commodities. When I analyse and evaluate a spread, I, first of all, ask myself: why is this seasonality present every year? What is the reason behind it? It was not enough to simply be told by SeasonAlgo or Moore Research that a certain calendar spread on coffee had a bullish seasonality. I wanted to investigate and understand the reasons, if any, behind that seasonality. This led me to, over time, create a list of spreads which I consider valid, where the majority of seasonality is due to precise reasons. I have collected them in this book where you will find a list divided by commodity with all the spreads for 2021. Obviously, you do not have to consider this list as the holy grail, but rather you should always analyse each spread to 360 degrees, as I explained in my book "Commodity Spread Trading - The Correct Method of Analysis." You have to discover whether the current situation is ideal or not for seasonality to be confirmed, or conversely, to figure out that conditions are not sufficient. With "Commodity Spread Trading - The Best Seasonal Spreads for 2021" no subscription is necessary, which saves you a considerable amount of money. Use this book, with the free SpreadCharts app, and you will be fully equipped to trade commodity spreads in a professional and proficient manner. What are you waiting for? Book excerpt: Commodity Derivatives: A Guide for Future Practitioners describes the origins and uses of these important markets. Commodities are often used as inputs in the production of other products, and commodity prices are notoriously volatile. Derivatives include forwards, futures, options, and swaps; all are types of contracts that allow buyers and sellers to establish the price at one time and exchange the commodity at another. These contracts can be used to establish a price now for a purchase or sale that will occur later, or establish a price later for a purchase or sale now. This book provides detailed examples for using derivatives to manage prices by hedging, using futures, options, and swaps. It also presents strategies for using derivatives to speculate on price levels, relationships, volatility, and the passage of time. Finally, because the relationship between a commodity price and a derivative price is not constant, this book examines the impact of basis behaviour on hedging results, and shows how the basis can be bought and sold like a commodity. The material in this book is based on the author’s 30-year career in commodity derivatives, and is essential reading for students planning careers as commodity merchandisers, traders, and related industry positions. Not only does it provide them with the necessary theoretical background, it also covers the practical applications that employers expect new hires to understand. Examples are coordinated across chapters using consistent prices and formats, and industry terminology is used so students can become familiar with standard terms and concepts. This book is organized into 18 chapters, corresponding to approximately one chapter per week for courses on the semester system.

Book excerpt: This publication serves as a roadmap for exploring and managing climate risk in the U.S. financial system. It is the first major climate publication by a U.S. financial regulator. The central message is that U.S. financial regulators must recognize that climate change poses serious emerging risks to the U.S. financial system, and they should move urgently and decisively to measure, understand, and address these risks. Achieving this goal calls for strengthening regulators’ capabilities, expertise, and data and tools to better monitor, analyze, and quantify climate risks. It calls for working closely with the private sector to ensure that financial institutions and market participants do the same. And it calls for policy and regulatory choices that are flexible, open-ended, and adaptable to new information about climate change and its risks, based on close and iterative dialogue with the private sector. At the same time, the financial community should not simply be reactive—it should provide solutions. Regulators should recognize that the financial system can itself be a catalyst for investments that accelerate economic resilience and the transition to a net-zero emissions economy. Financial innovations, in the form of new financial products, services, and technologies, can help the U.S. economy better manage climate risk and help channel more capital into technologies essential for the transition. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.5247742
