Download or read book The Co-ed Call Girl Murder written by Fannie Weinstein and published by Macmillan. This book was released on 1997-07-15 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bright and magnetic, Tina Biggar was an all-American girl from a picture-perfect family. She studied hard and played hard, and when a subject interested her, she couldn't let it go. At college, Tina worked on a research project, interviewing prostitutes about AIDS awareness. Later, she explored on her own the seedy world of the high-class call girl, and walked into a nightmare she's never return from. Living off-campus with her boyfriend, Todd, Tina's interest has taken a dangerous turn. One of her family and friends suspected that the twenty-three-year-old blonde was secretly working as a call girl for three shadowy escort services, providing sexual favors to strangers for one hundred dollars an hour. Then one day Tina was gone. Four weeks later, police found her decomposed body behind a vacant house--hidden there by a forty-one-year-old treacherous ex-con and regular client who would be charged with her violent death. Only with her tragic murder did the twisted story of Tina's shocking double life emerge before the horrified eyes of those who knew and loved her.

Download or read book Co-ed Combat written by Kingsley Browne and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2007 with total page 378 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Browne makes a case against women in combat, based on research in anthropology, biology, history, psychology, sociology, and law, as well as military memoirs. It asks hard questions that challenge the assumptions of feminists. For instance: 5 Has warfare really changed so much as to reverse the almost unanimous history of all-male armed forces? 5 Are men and women really equivalent in combat skills, even leaving aside physical strength? 5 Do female troops respond to traditional types of motivations? 5 Can the bonds of unit cohesion form in a co-ed military unit? 5 Can an all-volunteer military afford to reject women?

In the sweltering summer of 1929, the people of Columbus, Ohio, were enthralled by the story of Dr. James Howard Snook—an Ohio State University veterinary professor and Olympic gold medal-winning pistol shooter who was put on trial for the murder of his twenty-four-year-old lover, a medical student. This riveting account reveals how Snook was captured and interrogated, including his gory confession of Theora Hix’s death. Book Synopsis The Life and Times of Dr. John Parmenas Eustace by : Vin G. Samuel
Download or read book The Life and Times of Dr. John Parmenas Eustace written by Vin G. Samuel and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2003-04-30 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The life and Times of Dr. J. P. Eustace is an account of how a man with faith in God, a positive mental attitude, dedication to unselfish service, and a commitment to educate the poor, triumphed over colonialism and mainstream religious doctrine to become one of the greatest West Indians of the twentieth century. His life story embodies the history of St. Vincent and the Grenadines for almost all of the twentieth century. And, although his initiatives in education were made without regard for political influence or financial rewards, they are generally recognized as having significant impacts on societies in the Caribbean, North America, and Europe. John Parmenas Eustace was born in Mayreau, St. Vincent, then a British colony in the West Indies, in 1905. He obtained an early education under a system that groomed him for life among the elites of British colonial society. With his family roots in the middle class elites, and also in the powerful European plantation-owners class (plantocracy), one would not have predicted that the young John Eustace would mature to be a revered name in the lives of the masses in his homeland, and a contributor to the struggle for political liberation in the Caribbean. The author examined the life of Dr. J. P. Eustace within the context of Christianity and twentieth century history. Third World struggles against colonialism and imperialism, world wars, the communist-capitalist cold war, international banana war, Rastafarianism, West Indies Cricket, and Caribbean music (Calypso, Reggae, and Soca) illustrate the times in which Dr. Eustace lived, and the pages of the book. Consequently, this book will appeal to a wide readership, including Christians and non-Christians alike. Furthermore, it will be particularly useful to those interested in Third World political and economic development, and for developing individual plans to meet the challenges of modern life. The lessons of the Life and Times of Dr. J. P. Eustace are many. But the greatest lesson of all is that we can make wise decisions based on unwavering belief and willingness to take positive actions for the glory of God. This lesson is timeless in appeal and if heeded will contribute to a full and useful life in this world. The book is intended as an educational source for both children and adults. It will be particularly enlightening to those seeking to understand Caribbean history and its connections to international politics and colonialism, students of third world economics, investors, and others with interest in the Caribbean, particularly in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Book Synopsis Coed Revolution by : Chelsea Szendi Schieder
Download or read book Coed Revolution written by Chelsea Szendi Schieder and published by Duke University Press. This book was released on 2021-01-22 with total page 149 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the 1960s, a new generation of university-educated youth in Japan challenged forms of capitalism and the state. In Coed Revolution Chelsea Szendi Schieder recounts the crucial stories of Japanese women's participation in these protest movements led by the New Left through the early 1970s. Women were involved in contentious politics to an unprecedented degree, but they and their concerns were frequently marginalized by men in the movement and the mass media, and the movement at large is often memorialized as male and masculine. Drawing on stories of individual women, Schieder outlines how the media and other activists portrayed these women as icons of vulnerability and victims of violence, making women central to discourses about legitimate forms of postwar political expression. Schieder disentangles the gendered patterns that obscured radical women's voices to construct a feminist genealogy of the Japanese New Left, demonstrating that student activism in 1960s Japan cannot be understood without considering the experiences and representations of these women.
