Book Synopsis Principles of Valuation by : Clement Key
Download or read book Principles of Valuation written by Clement Key and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2004 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book was written to fill a need for a text which will enable the reader/student to learn the principles of valuation. It will help you to meet the demanding requirements of export and import valuation. Customs and Border Protection expect 99% valuation compliance. Bureau of Industry and Security as well as Bureau of Census expect accuracy in export and import valuation. The Bureau of Industry and Security states that over 50% of export declarations are incorrect. This book will help to reduce valuation as a value concern. Valuation is far below the 99% stated to Congress. Under the "reasonable care" requirements of Customs, trained and proficient personnel are expected to provide accuracy of 99%. This book will help attain a higher compliance level and serve as support to your compliance manual. Book Synopsis The Valuation of Digital Intangibles by : Roberto Moro-Visconti
Download or read book The Valuation of Digital Intangibles written by Roberto Moro-Visconti and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-08-31 with total page 821 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers an updated primer on the valuation of digital intangibles, a trending class of immaterial assets. Startups like successful unicorns, as well as consolidated firms desperately working to re-engineer their business models, are now trying to go digital and to reap higher returns by exploiting new intangibles. This book is innovative in its design and concept since it tackles a frontier topic with an original methodology, combining academic rigor with practical insights. Evaluation issues are increasingly based on an analytical comprehension of augmented business models and virtual function analysis, nurtured by real-time big data. The impact of digitalization on scalable business models is the main competitive advantage factor of the BigTechs and other Unicorns, representing a target for startups and the reengineering of traditional firms. The transition from the Internet to the metaverse represents the last frontier, showing how 3D virtual and augmented reality impacts social networking. The second edition of this book updates the contents of the first edition while comprehensively introduces these innovative topics--such as the metaverse, cloud storage, multi-sided digital platforms, ESG-compliance, and value co-creation patterns of digitized stakeholders--and demonstrates how best practices can be applied to specific asset appraisals, making it of interest to researchers, students, and practitioners alike.

Download or read book Solvency Compendium written by and published by Andrew Smith. This book was released on 2008-07 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A solvency opinion provides assurance to a company's Board of Directors and/or the lenders that the transaction will not likely subject the Company and its unsecured and other creditors to undue financial distress. Houlihan will undertake a solvency opinion engagement for companies involved in highly leveraged transactions. Examples include leveraged buyouts, leveraged recapitalizations, leveraged dividends or other such situations where there may be minimal equity involved. Houlihan has also completed solvency opinions for spin-off transactions in conjunction with capital restructuring and significant debt refinancing. The Federal Bankruptcy Code defines "insolvent" as the condition in which the total of a person's debts exceeds the value of its property at a fair valuation. Recent case law suggests that the fair valuation of property is its value on a going-concern basis. A solvency letter expresses an independent expert opinion on a borrower's ability to remain solvent under the burden of additional liability, to pay debts as they mature, and to continue operations as a going-concern in dynamic economic conditions. In connection with a leveraged recapitalization, interested parties such as new secured lenders and sellers will often, due to fraudulent conveyance concerns, seek an independent determination and opinion as to the impact of the acquisition debt on working capital, cash flow, and equity value. Houlihan is highly familiar with the Tests of Capitalization and Solvency and is able to efficiently and cost-effectively provide analysis that provides a layer of comfort to interested parties.

Book excerpt: Product lifetimes are critical for the circular economy, resource efficiency, waste reduction and low carbon strategies for sustainability, and are therefore of interest to academics from many different disciplines as well as original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and other stakeholders. The challenges related to product lifetimes must be tackled from multiple perspectives, making the sharing of knowledge and expertise from different disciplines particularly important. The conference originated from the desire to bring together academic researchers working in the field of sustainability to benefit from each other’s knowledge and further advance the field. The book includes the 88 full papers delivered at the conference, grouped according to the following 7 conference themes: design for product longevity; product lifetime optimization; cultural perspectives on the throwaway society; circular economy and product lifetimes; business opportunities, economic implications and marketing strategies; consumer influences on product lifetimes; and policy, regulation and legislation.
