I have attempted to craft a book that is well researched (I have been conducting this research for over 30 years) but also easy to read and understand. Each essay can be read in less than 10 minutes. In the end it is important to know whether God exists or He does not exist. There is no third option. What I am seeking to do in this book is to determine which of these beliefs is true and which one is not.

Book excerpt: Christianity Today 2023 Book Award Finalist (Bible & Devotional) Sheltering Mercy helps us rediscover the rich treasures of the Psalms--through free-verse prayer renderings of their poems and hymns--as a guide to personal devotion and meditation. The church has always used the Psalms as part of its prayer life, and they have inspired countless other prayers. This book contains 75 prayers drawn from Psalms 1-75, providing lyrical sketches of what authors Ryan Whitaker Smith and Dan Wilt have seen, heard, and felt while sojourning in the Psalms. While each prayer corresponds to a particular psalm and touches on its themes and ideas, it is not a new translation of the Psalms or an attempt to modernize or contextualize their content or language. Rather, the prayers are responses to the Psalms written in harmony with Scripture. These prayers help us quiet our hearts before God and welcome us into a safe place amid the storms of life. This artful, poetic, and classic devotional book features compelling custom illustrations and beautiful hardcover binding, offering a fresh way to reflect on and pray the Psalms.

Book excerpt: In this book I pose four questions to the reader, which are : What is my role as a Christian in the Political Sphere ? What is my role as a Christian in the Ministry God has placed me ? What keys can I use to graduate from a life of failure to that of Victory? What keys can we use to make our Ministry to become Victorious ? The answers I give in the book are based on various messages I have heard and practiced throughout my life as a Christian but mostly inspired by messages preached at the Shekinah Conference at the Praise Christian Center in Lusaka, Zambia. I have backed up all the answers with scriptures from the word of God as I believe that it provides answers to all worldly problems. A Victorious Ministry consists of Victorious Christians who are active in both the Ministry and the Political World. When Christians Arise to this fact, they will Impact the World with the gospel of Jesus Christ

Slavery, censorship and superstition are back. Our politics are polarising. All the affluence in the world can’t seem to quench our thirst for meaning and purpose. But maybe there is hope—if we know where to look. In this timely book, Kurt Mahlburg shows how profoundly the West has been shaped by the life and teachings of Jesus—from our democratic freedoms and our pursuit of reason and science to our belief that every life is precious. Could rediscovering Jesus be the answer to our crisis?

County homicide detective and former atheist, Cold-Case Christianity examines the claims of the New Testament using the skills and strategies of a hard-to-convince criminal investigator. Christianity could be defined as a “cold case”: it makes a claim about an event from the distant past for which there is little forensic evidence. In Cold-Case Christianity, J. Warner Wallace uses his nationally recognized skills as a homicide detective to look at the evidence and eyewitnesses behind Christian beliefs. Including gripping stories from his career and the visual techniques he developed in the courtroom, Wallace uses illustration to examine the powerful evidence that validates the claims of Christianity. A unique apologetic that speaks to readers’ intense interest in detective stories, Cold-Case Christianity inspires readers to have confidence in Christ as it prepares them to articulate the case for Christianity.

Book excerpt: No other teacher in the history of the world has wielded so profound an influence upon humanity as has Jesus the Christ. Practically the whole world has been Christianized. His doctrines have entered not only into households but also into governments and nations. But the Christianity that prevails generally, is the doctrine of Jesus highly merged with the opinions of men. Indeed, the world's Christianity is often more largely man-made than Christ-made. A perfect knowledge of Jesus cannot be gained, however, until men learn more about what He Himself taught, and less about what scholars have said about His doctrine. This little book is an attempt modestly to present in popular form the teachings of Jesus. It is intended for boys and girls of high-school age. It is to be understood, then, that there is here no exhaustive treatise of the teachings of Jesus; nor is there conducted a study and investigation of profound scholarship. Such a work from the Mormon point of view must be deferred, if desirable at all. But it is hoped that what Jesus taught—in part at least—is here presented simply and plainly and truly, so that anyone who reads may understand. It is further hoped that the writing of these lessons has been "moved by the Holy Ghost," so that those who read them may learn to love the teachings of Jesus, and to know and to love God, and His Son, Jesus, whom He sent to redeem the world. "Worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." O. J. P. W. Salt Lake City, December 12, 1917.

Book excerpt: The impact of The Late Great Planet Earth cannot be overstated. The New York Times called it the "no. 1 non-fiction bestseller of the decade." For Christians and non-Christians of the 1970s, Hal Lindsey's blockbuster served as a wake-up call on events soon to come and events already unfolding -- all leading up to the greatest event of all: the return of Jesus Christ. The years since have confirmed Lindsey's insights into what biblical prophecy says about the times we live in. Whether you're a church-going believer or someone who wouldn't darken the door of a Christian institution, the Bible has much to tell you about the imminent future of this planet. In the midst of an out-of-control generation, it reveals a grand design that's unfolding exactly according to plan. The rebirth of Israel. The threat of war in the Middle East. An increase in natural catastrophes. The revival of Satanism and witchcraft. These and other signs, foreseen by prophets from Moses to Jesus, portend the coming of an antichrist . . . of a war which will bring humanity to the brink of destruction . . . and of incredible deliverance for a desperate, dying planet.

Book excerpt: Ode to Jesus is the easiest way for you to learn the Scripture's real teachings about Jesus Christ. In mere seconds, you will know what it says about the most influential person in history. It does this by using hymns that benchmark true biblical doctrines in an easily remembered and understood way. For instance: God made the universe through Christ. Sire ordered; Son obeyed! This reality came to be - Father designed; Son made! Just like that, you now know a critical biblical teaching: God the Father had his Son, Jesus Christ, create this massive universe. Here is another: He humbled himself to be born. The great God became man! He emptied himself of glory. From divine to mere man! You now possess true biblical knowledge that makes it impossible for someone to deceive you. What you do with the knowledge is up to you. You can use it to believe the Bible's message and live a life of meaning and joy by becoming a person who loves God, loves your neighbor, loves yourself, and keeps God's commandments. Alternatively, you can restrict it to the intellectual satisfaction realm. But regardless of your choice, at least now, no one can fool you about what the Bible actually says about Jesus Christ. You owe it to yourself to know more about Jesus Christ. Even if you do not believe he is your Savior, he has improved your life in ways you cannot imagine. History has always been brutal and violent because our innate human nature values insiders more than outsiders (because you are human, you will always save the life of your young child over a stranger's). However, when Christians started applying Christ's moral teachings (empathetic morality, human dignity, and human equality) to national laws, they discovered something the world had never seen before: Natural Rights. Natural rights, such as your right to life, liberty, physical security, equality, and freedom of religion, are your most important rights. You have them just for being human. No government gave them to you; good governments recognize that you have them and respect them. They make you and your worst enemy equal. They make the weakest outsider equal to the most powerful insider. However, natural rights cannot exist without standing on Christ's moral teaching because nothing objective supports them. Remove the foundation, and the concept collapses, standards become arbitrary, and laws become changeable on the whim of whoever is in charge. Tyranny returns, resulting in calamity for the rest of us. Applying Christ's words also resulted in the modern Western world and its products. There is little doubt that the contemporary STEM world could have never existed if the Christian milieu had never existed. Most importantly of all, Jesus gave us the answer to living a life of meaning and happiness, regardless of the evil we experience: - LOVE GOD - LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR - LOVE YOURSELF - KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS What explains Jesus Christ and his outsized positive influence on humanity? Is he our God who became human flesh who then suffered and died for us? Or was he just a deluded preacher who got lucky?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The day after Jesus' death, whatever small mark he made on the world seemed destined to disappear. Instead, his impact on human history has been unparalleled, leading believers and nonbelievers alike to ask, Who Is This Man? In Who Is This Man, bestselling author John Ortberg explores the paradox of Jesus, history's most familiar figure while simultaneously the man no one knows. Who Is This Man traces Jesus' incredible life and legacy from his days on Earth to the present moment, showing us: How his vision of life continues to haunt and challenge humanity The ways his influence has inspired movements in art, science, government, medicine, and education How his lessons about dignity, compassion, forgiveness, and hope continue to influence humanity Join John Ortberg as he shares how Jesus' influence has swept over history and how his vision of life continues to impact us today. Praise for Who Is This Man?: "Sometimes in the clutter and noise of 'religion,' we lose sight of who Jesus is. Once again, John Ortberg helps us do what he does best: he helps us see God as he really is and connect with him amid all the noise. This book is a gift." --Dr. Henry Cloud, psychologist, coauthor of the bestselling Boundaries books "We live in a period where the divide between the secular and the sacred has never been greater. Who Is This Man? bridges this gap by sharing in his inimitable and entertaining style the undeniable and profound impact of Jesus Christ on our world. His impact, over two thousand years later, is more profound on the day-to-day lives of people--believers or not--than the impact of any other person at any point in history. John shows how Christ came to teach us how to live and in the process changed the world forever and for good." --Ron Johnson, CEO, J. C. Penney
