Four years later I felt lead to update and revise the book. This book is designed to empower and challenge the reader to examine those beliefs that hinder the power of God from manifesting in their life. Jesus told his followers they could do all the things he did. (John 14:12) Why aren t you experiencing this? Read this book and you may discover why. This is not a religious book. True Christianity is having a relationship with God and learning to live according the principles of His Kingdom, which Jesus taught. Find out what you need to do change your paradigm to the Christ Mind, and receive all that God made available to you today. Keith E. Jackson, MA, MFT received an athletic scholarship for football from the University of Arizona. There he received his Bachelors of Arts degree with a major in Psychology. After graduating he played in the NFL with the San Diego Chargers. After his career ended in the NFL, he was employed with the San Diego County Probation and Sheriff s department for 28 years. After retiring from the Sheriff s Department he received his Master s Degree in counseling Psychology from Southern California Bible College and Seminary. He then was licensed in the State of California as a Marriage and Family Therapist. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is designed to challenge your mind set and kick down some of the sacred cows that hinder you from becoming all that God has created you to be. In the Gospel of John, Jesus made a profound statement. Jesus stated all the works he has done his disciplines could do, and even greater works because he was returning to His heavenly father. (John 14:12-14) Was Jesus serious when he said that or was he trying to appease his followers? Some may say that he was speaking figuratively, but I am of the opinion that this statement was a literal one. There are numerous scriptures to back up my contention. If Jesus statement is true, are you experiencing the power and authority that Jesus said was available to all those who call on his name? If the answer is no, then why arent you? It is my contention in order for us to be trusted with that kind of power and authority we must develop the same mind set that Jesus had. In the book of Romans the apostle Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit encouraged the believers to renew their minds. (Romans 12:1-3) Paul realized that in order to experience the power and authority that God has for us we need to learn to think a different way. We need to learn a new paradigm. Many believers are living life far below what God has intended for them. Some have rationalized that this is their plight and they endure the hardships with the hope that someday they will get their reward in the sweet by and by. This sounds real religious and many would applaud this mind set. But is it truly scriptural? If you are not experiencing the aforementioned, dont you think its time to ask why? If you are satisfied with your life this book is not for you. In fact, I admire you. I wish I could be that content, but I am not! I want to experience all that God has for me. I want to be blessed so I can be a blessing according to the promise God gave Abraham. You know that all those who are of the faith of Abraham are entitled to the same blessings of Abraham? Maybe that is the problem- you didnt know. In this book I will discuss ways you can renew our mind, and challenge your current cognitive processes. The subjects that I will cover are the following: What does it mean to be responsible? What is the difference between responsibility and accountability? How responsible are you? : What is your purpose in life? What is Gods purpose for you? Are you a prisoner of your past or a pioneer of your future? What kind of fence do you have around your yard? (boundaries) What keeps dysfunction alive and well? Living life from an internal locus of control. Thinking outside of the box. Using your hardships to your advantage. Turning your dreams into reality (the process for change). Strategies for success.

Gushee, “For us, it’s the LGBT issue.” In Changing Our Mind, Gushee takes the reader along his personal and theological journey as he changes his mind about gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender inclusion in the Church. With 19 books to his name, Gushee is no stranger to the public arena. He is the author of the “Evangelical Declaration Against Torture” and drafted the “Evangelical Climate Initiative. “For decades now, David Gushee has earned the reputation as America's leading evangelical ethicist. In this book, he admits that he has been wrong on the LGBT issue.” writes Brian D. McLaren, author and theologian. In the definitive third edition of this book, David Gushee issues a scholarly response to his critics. Brian D. McLaren says it best: “Not only is David Gushee's work deep, thoughtful and brilliant; and not only is David philosophically and theologically careful and astute; he is also refreshingly clear and understandable by ‘common people’ who know neither philosophical nor theological mumbo jumbo.”

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Leadership is the habit of making good choices. Even in difficult and uncertain circumstances, the most effective leaders focus their attention and overcome entrenched patterns of behavior to push an organization to new heights of success. This capability is no fluke: the latest research on the brain shows that we can pinpoint the mental activity associated with it—and cultivate it for our benefit. In this book, Art Kleiner, a strategy expert; Jeffrey Schwartz, a research psychiatrist; and Josie Thomson, an executive coach, give a transformative explanation of how cutting-edge neuroscience can help business leaders set a course toward better management. Mapping the functions of a manager onto established patterns of mental activity, they identify crucial brain circuits and their parallels in organizational culture. Strategic leaders, they show, play the role of wise advocates: able to go beyond day-to-day transactional behavior to a longer-term, broader perspective that articulates their organization’s deeper purpose. True leaders can play this influencer role in an organization because they have cultivated similar self-reflective habits in their own minds. Providing a powerful guide to decision strategies and their consequences, The Wise Advocate helps managers find their own inner voice and then make that voice ring out loud and clear, with a four-step program for practice and catalytic implications for management strategy, executive education, and business results.

Is Christianity as we know it in the process of dying? Writer, scholar, teacher, and missionary Dr. David Alan Black thinks that the answer does not lie in the politics of the left or the right. In fact, he doesn't think that Jesus tells us what our politics should be. He doesn't see answers in Christian nationalism. But even further, he sees serious flaws in the very structure of our churches and denominations that prevent us from truly being obedient to the gospel. The solution lies, not in renewal, revival, or even in reformation, but rather in restoration-a restoration of the church organized as Jesus intended it and according to the example provided by the earliest church sources in the New Testament. To make the church and its members true servants of Jesus Christ again, we need to change our entire paradigm-to The Jesus Paradigm.

How do we see through his eyes? How do we feel through his heart? How do we learn to respond to the world with that same wholeness and healing love? That’s what Christian orthodoxy really is all about. It’s not about right belief; it’s about right practice.” —Cynthia Bourgeault, author of The Wisdom Jesus What does it mean to follow the path of Christ today? Putting on the Mind of Christ is the first book to offer an integral understanding of the Christian spiritual path--one that examines the basic stages of spiritual development described by the great saints and sages, along with the psychological stages of development used by modern psychology. American mystic Jim Marion draws upon his own rich spiritual experience and deep understanding of scriptural models, to show readers how to emulate the developmental stages of the Christ: how to put on the mind of Christ to achieve spiritual illumination and communion with the Christ. He examines the seven levels of consciousness of the human personality mapped by the work of Jean Piaget, Carol Milligan, and Lawrence Kohlberg, and leads readers to the consciousness that Jesus called the Kingdom of Heaven--the highest level of spiritual development. Marion shows how inner spiritual growth has always been the true essence of Christian practice and shares his own spiritual experiences within a "Christ-focused" framework. Pioneering, transcendent, and grounded, Putting on the Mind of Christ will permanently alter the landscape of 21st-century Christianity.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reader's Choice Award Winner "Why doesn’t the Christian life work like I thought it would?" While we often start with good intentions, it feels like real transformation is elusive at best, and maybe even impossible. We deeply want to live in the freedom that Christ offers, but we are acutely aware of the gap between a transformed life and our reality. Having the Mind of Christ tackles the issues of lasting life change. When we feel some kind of inspiration or need to seek change in our lives, we start with behaviors: new to-dos, tactics, techniques, or spiritual disciplines that we hope will bring about the transformation we desire. While these behavioral changes can bear good results, they just as often fail to produce the lasting change we deeply desire. That's because transformation requires more than a change in practice – it requires a change in paradigm. Pastors Matt Tebbe and Ben Sternke share eight axioms that help reframe the way that we see God, ourselves, and others. By seeing through new lenses, we can open ourselves to the transformational change that God wants for our lives.

Smith, M.A., was a Catholic missionary priest who had been practising Transcendental Meditation since 1976 and the TM-Sidhi techniques since 1978. He was the founder of the Christian TM Group in Britain. When he published this booklet in 1993, he wrote: Transcendental Meditation has come to us just at the moment in our history when humanity needs it most: a technique to enable the inner life to develop, to provide a path to a greater awareness, a means to deepen our relationships with others and with the cosmos, a tool with which to handle stress, a method to awaken the mind to the presence of the Divine in creation and within our innermost being. It is a purely natural mental technique and is not in itself a religious practice. However, since it contributes positively to the full and harmonious development of body, mind and spirit, it is invaluable for Christians to enable them to become, as St Paul says ‘... mature people reaching to the very height of Christ’s full stature.’ (Eph. 4:13)
