Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ella Young (1867-1956) was an Irish poet, political activist, and mystic. Her interest in Theosophy led her to become an early member of the Hermetic Society, and her acquaintance with George William Russell led to her becoming one of his select group of proteges, known as the "singing birds". Her first volume of verse, titled simply Poems, was published in 1906. She became friends with Yeats's erstwhile flame Maud Gonne, and Gonne illustrated her first book of stories, Celtic Wonder Tales (1910). Although she continued to write poetry, it was for her redactions of traditional Irish legends that she became best known; among her later books were The Wonder Smith, The Tangle-Coated Horse, and The Unicorn with Silver Shoes. Later in life, Young emigrated to the United States. Her later writings grew increasingly mystical, and she found particular affinity in the California Redwoods.

This book was released on 2016-11-17 with total page 1296 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Herein you will find 5 books containing 84 old Eastern European folk and fairy tales, plus tales of dragons, both magnanimous and evil, tales of princes on their white chargers dashing in to rescue princesses in distress and tales of the little people - the fairy folk who stitch together each and every fairy tale. These books were bestsellers when they were first published, some over 120 years ago, at a time when people REALLY DID BELIEVE in fairies. These are tales from the forests and lane-side hedgerows as well as tales of fairy dances, which only ever occur at midnight under a full moon. And then there are tales of how lowly laborers applied their brains to a situation to win the hand of princesses and become kings of kingdoms. Plus there are other tales of how kings, forever protective of their precious princesses, set ever more difficult challenges to those wanting to win the hand of their daughters, who, of course, are the fairest and most beautiful in all the land! Ideal for parents, grandparents and lovers of fairy tales and of all things magic! In addition this is a unique collection for primary/elementary school libraries. TEACHERS read a page or two from each story at the end of the school day and have your students queuing up to hear the next part of the story day after day. This book was released on 2013-05-11 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This second volume of Gypsy Folk Tales contains stories, tales and legends from Transylvania, Slovakia, Moravia, Bohemia, Poland, England, Wales and Scotland. This book is a treasure chest of 39 classic illustrated Gypsy Folklore stories and makes fascinating reading for those interested in folklore in general, but especially for those interested in the Roma people. Francis Hinds Groome collated and prepared this collection, making only few changes and remaining true to the original stories, so to let the written story enchant us as if it were being presented in the vernacular. In his various other works, Groome raises the point that Europe possibly owes a great deal of its folklore heritage to Gypsies, who brought tales from East to West. If this is the case, then even the most rooted of Europeans must attribute a portion of their culture to the Gypsy lifestyle. Simply stated, these stories are their stories, but in an earlier form. The stories have been recently illustrated by Dutch artist Maggie Gunzel whose art has stayed true to the stories themselves. So take some time out and curl up with this book. Be swept back in time to another place, where the carefree lifestyle of the Gypsy rules and the burdens of today are forgotten - albeit temporarily. In buying this book you will have donated towards the relief of the underprivileged people of Romania through the Relief Fund for Romania.
