Book excerpt: Excerpt from Fifteenth Annual Catalogue of the Officers and Students of Leonard Medical School, Shaw University: For the Academic Year 1894-95 Dr. R. H. Lewis is a specialist, giving attention to the eye, ear, throat and nose. He will supplement his course with clini cal instruction at the Leonard Medical School Hospital, students thus having the opportunity of becoming acquainted with the various instruments employed in the examination of the eye and ear and the operations thereon, and with disease of these organs and their treatment. And by reason of his having specially qualified himself for the teaching of Hygiene and Sanitation, to assume the office of Secretary of the North Carolina State Board of Health, he has been selected to deliver a course of lectures upon the subject. Dr. K. P. Battle, late of the United States Marine Hospital Service, is eminently qualified for his position as instructor in Physiology, also as clinical professor of diseases of the eye, ear, nose and throat, by reason of having recently pursued an extended course in the Royal London, Opthalmic Hospital and the London Hospital for Diseases of the Throat and Nose. His course will be illustrated by various physiological demonstra tions, including Vivisection. The professors in Anatomy and Chemistry are teachers of eminent ability. Dr. H. B.
