Book Synopsis Evolutionary, Biostratigraphic, and Taxonomic Study of Calcareous Nannofossils from a Continuous Paleocene-Eocene Boundary Section in New Jersey by : Laurel M. Bybell
Download or read book Evolutionary, Biostratigraphic, and Taxonomic Study of Calcareous Nannofossils from a Continuous Paleocene-Eocene Boundary Section in New Jersey written by Laurel M. Bybell and published by . This book was released on 1994 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Calcareous nannofossils were examined from upper Paleocene and lower Eocene marine sediments from six coreholes that were drilled in southern New Jersey ; microfossil data from New Jersey were compared to and were found to be consistent with material examined from the Atlantic Coastal Plain of Alabama, Maryland and Virginia ; the biostratigraphic and lithostratigraphic data indicate continuous deposition across the Paleocene-Eocene boundary in this part of New Jersey.
Book Synopsis Plankton Stratigraphy: Volume 1, Planktic Foraminifera, Calcareous Nannofossils and Calpionellids by : Hans M. Bolli
Download or read book Plankton Stratigraphy: Volume 1, Planktic Foraminifera, Calcareous Nannofossils and Calpionellids written by Hans M. Bolli and published by CUP Archive. This book was released on 1989-05-25 with total page 612 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This comprehensive synthesis of our knowledge of the biostratigraphy of marine plankton is the work of an international team of eighteen authors. It covers all the major fossil groups that can be used to date sediments and rocks in the time interval Late Mesozoic to Holocene. Altogether more than 3200 taxa are considered, almost all of which are illustrated and depicted on range charts, making the book a valuable work of reference in the earth sciences. For ease of reference by specialists interested in either calcareous or non-calcareous microfossils, the original work is now divided into two independent volumes. Volume I covers the calcareous microfossils and includes planktic foraminifers, calcareous nannofossils and calpionellids.

Book Synopsis Middle Miocene calcareous nannoplankton of NE Slovenia (western Central Paratethys) by : Miloš Bartol
Download or read book Middle Miocene calcareous nannoplankton of NE Slovenia (western Central Paratethys) written by Miloš Bartol and published by Založba ZRC. This book was released on 2009-01-01 with total page 142 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The monograph presents Badenian calcareous nannoplankton from NE Slovenia. Several hundred samples from 22 measured sections have been studied. In total, 109 species of calcareous nannoplankton are determined and described, many of which are new to Slovenia. The entire interval studied was assigned to the Middle Miocene. The excellent preservation and high species diversity enabled a precise subdivision of this interval into 6 successive interval zones, correlated with the absolute time scale (15.5 - 13.1 Ma) and with the 3rd order eustatic cycles (TB2.3, TB2.4 and TB2.5). Lists of all examined nannoplankton assemblages and their paleoecological analyses are also included. The monograph is a comprehensive review of the taxonomy, biostratigraphy and paleoecology of Miocene calcareous nannoplankton in the western part of the Central Paratethys.

Book Synopsis Cenozoic Foraminifera and Calcareous Nannofossil Biostratigraphy of the Niger Delta by : Oluwafeyisola Sylvester Adegoke
Download or read book Cenozoic Foraminifera and Calcareous Nannofossil Biostratigraphy of the Niger Delta written by Oluwafeyisola Sylvester Adegoke and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2016-11-25 with total page 594 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cenozoic Foraminifera and Calcareous Nannofossil Biostratigraphy of the Niger Delta is available just as exploration and production activities are moving into the little known deep water terrain of the Niger Delta. A thorough understanding of the Cenozoic Niger Delta will improve understanding and exploration of the evolution of deeper offshore belts, help researchers strengthen and refine existing Neogene nannofossil biostratigraphic schemes for the Niger Delta region, and gain a better understanding of the relationship between nannofossil assemblage variations and paleoenvironments. The hydrocarbon reserves of the Niger Delta are an extremely valuable natural resource. Biostratigraphy and Correlation play important roles in the discovery, development and maturing of hydrocarbon fields. Calcareous nannofossils have been important tools for the stratigraphers in the Niger Delta and in recent years exploration has moved into deeper offshore areas where nannofossils are more abundant and diverse. Little has been published about the calcareous nannofossil chronostratigraphy of the Niger delta. Cenozoic Foraminifera and Calcareous Nannofossil Biostratigraphy of the Niger Delta fills the gap for earth scientists and those working in the oil and gas industry. Showcases the phylogenetic relationships of some of the principal Niger Delta marker species and their biostratigraphic and biochronologic significance Features photographs of index benthonic foraminifera and their equivalent planktonic datums as well as environmentally sensitive species used in paleobathymetric reconstruction Includes information and research that has, until now, been in the private archives of operational companies Companion website features 20+ full color stratigraphic charts and maps
