Book excerpt: Shy, reclusive exchange student Belle Wainwright doesn't know that her world is about to change. Talked into a night out against her better judgment, she finds herself in an exclusive club where she knows no one. And finds herself the target of slavers whose purpose is to satisfy those men-and women-whose tastes have grown too dark for the modern world. Whose needs cannot be met by normal means. Who love...but on their own terms. Abandoned by her friends, she's simultaneously rescued and captured by a man who is at once a hero and a figure from nightmare. A dark prince who hints, enigmatically, at his own even darker needs. Who describes himself as a man with no soul. But who is, nonetheless, beautiful and brilliant. And whom Belle finds captivating, even though she knows she shouldn't.... This book is intended for mature audiences.

When Athena agreed to marry him he had everything a man could want but he wanted more. Patroclus opted for a simpler life, living on a small island off the coast of Xtulphdia with his wives and children. He would soon learn that helping to conquer an empire came with a price that had to be paid. All of them were enjoying their fortunes. All except for Vincent. From within his mountaintop hideout he studied death lore and he knew better. He knew that all good things must come to an end. The seeds of discord start as they often do- with greed and corruption of power. Diego and his allies struggle to maintain the empire, but he has his eye on Patrocluss wives. After he attacks Patrocluss home his former friends ally themselves against him, sparking a war that draws heroes and heroines from various cultures to the banners of Athena and Patroclus. The armies converge on the imperial seat. The city of Quom is transformed from a center of imperial commerce to an inferno, hosting a multitude of the dying, dead and living dead. The living fight alongside the undead as demons of light circle overhead. All hope seemed lost for Patroclus and the allies. They were completely surrounded, cut off from their reserves. And where was Athena?

Book excerpt: When david hume began his History of England the undertaking came, not from any sudden resolve nor as an entirely new enterprise, but as one possibly contemplated thirteen years before, in 1739, probably attempted several times thereafter, and certainly considered, at least as a corollary discipline, in a philosophical discourse published in 1748. Even so, any concerted effort long sustained necessarily awaited appropriate conditions: all happily combining for Hume upon his election, January, 1752, as Keeper of the Advocates’ Library in Edinburgh. With this appointment the author finally had “a genteel-office,” ready access to a collection of some thirty thousand volumes, and, no less desirable, leisure indefinitely extended to pursue his research. Heretofore, by mere exertion of his own commanding intellect, philosopher Hume had more than once set forth what he perceived to be the “constant and universal principles of human nature.” Now, as a philosophical historian, he could ascertain from dreary chronicles all the aberrations of human behavior as there exhibited in “wars, intrigues, factions, and revolutions.” These and other vagaries, previously recorded simply as odd phenomena, in Hume’s more coherent view constituted a varied range of “materials” documenting the “science of man.”

Thoroton's, 1797. and John Blacknere's of 1815. This book contains many historic facts about Nottingham. The town began in the 6th century as a small settlement called Snottaingaham. Nottingham was originally a fortified settlement or burgh. The town had a ditch around it and an earth rampart with a wooden palisade on top. In 920 the English king recaptured Nottingham and he built a bridge across the Trent. Nottingham was famous for its Lace during the industrial revolution. Today it is the City of Nottingham.
