After an absence of several months we returned to New York, and as we were saying good-bye he said: My dear boy, if I had at my disposal one-half of the interesting reminiscences of travel which you have related to me, I would most certainly group them together and make a book which would not only be interesting and instructive to young people, but highly entertaining to all who read it.
