Book excerpt: Los cambios que vienen ocurriendo a lo largo de las últimas décadas en las organizaciones trajeron a discusión la importancia del desempeño de las personas en las organizaciones, incluyendo a las instituciones públicas. La presente investigación tiene por objetivo determinar la relación existente entre la calidad de vida laboral y el compromiso organizacional del personal nombrado en la sede administrativa de la Municipalidad Provincial de San Román. La metodología fue de tipo descriptivo correlacional de corte transversal, el tamaño de la muestra fue de 42 servidores públicos nombrados, a los cuales se aplicó un cuestionario estructurado en tres partes: la primera identifica los aspectos personales y profesionales, la segunda constituida por la escala de calidad de vida profesional CVP-35 y por último el instrumento de compromiso organizacional. Los datos obtenidos fueron analizados estadísticamente con la prueba Tau- b de Kendall, cuyos resultados evidenciaron que no existe relación significativa entre la calidad de vida laboral y el compromiso organizacional en el personal nombrado en la sede administrativa de la Municipalidad Provincial de San Román. Así mismo, se pudo determinar que existe correlación directa y significativa entre las cargas del trabajo y el compromiso organizacional. Por último, se halló que no existe relación entre la motivación intrínseca y el compromiso organizacional, ni entre el apoyo directo con el compromiso organizacional.

Book excerpt: El propósito de esta investigación es auscultar la relación entre el compromiso organizacional, la pasión por el trabajo, el significado por el trabajo y la satisfacción laboral. A su vez, este estudio busca examinar el efecto del compromiso organizacional como mediador en la relación entre estas variables organizacionales. Este estudio se realizó mediante el análisis de datos secundarios obteniendo una muestra de 347 participantes de distintas industrias en Puerto Rico. Los resultados indicaron que el compromiso organizacional muestra relaciones significativas y directas con el resto de las variables organizacionales. Asimismo, los datos revelaron que el compromiso no moderó la relación entre la pasión por el trabajo y la satisfacción laboral. Los datos también indicaron que el compromiso medió la relación entre el significado por el trabajo y la satisfacción laboral. Estos hallazgos subrayan la importancia de continuar investigando el compromiso como un indicador de mayor satisfacción y motivación laboral. Las implicaciones de estos hallazgos también son discutidas.

Book excerpt: El objetivo de la investigación es determinar la relación de dependencia de la satisfacción laboral con el compromiso organizacional de los trabajadores de Mibanco, gestión 2013, ubicada en el departamento de Madre de Dios. El compromiso organizacional se sustenta con la teoría de Meyer (1984) y la satisfacción laboral se sustenta con las teorías de Blum y Naylor (1981). Para evaluar el compromiso organizacional se empleó un cuestionario que consta de 20 ítems en una escala de tipo Likert, elaborado por Betanzos y otros (2006) y Cabrera y Urbiola (2102). Para estudiar la variable de satisfacción laboral se utilizó un cuestionario que consta de 20 ítems en una escala de tipo Likert, elaborado Meliá y Periró (1998). Se utilizó la muestra no probabilística donde la muestra se constituyó en el cien por ciento de la población. Es decir, se trabajó con 31 empleados que laboran en Mibanco. Para identificar las unidades de análisis se utilizó el criterio de inclusión y exclusión. Como estadístico se utilizó Chi cuadrado. Los resultados arrojaron que existe relación significativa entre el comportamiento organizacional y satisfacción laboral. Es decir, si aumenta la satisfacción laboral en un empleado de Mibanco, aumenta también el compromiso organizacional.
