Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

As blended learning continues to evolve and expand, it is important that information regarding what constitutes the ideal combination of online and traditional pedagogical strategies in blended education and at all levels is illuminated and shared. Emerging Techniques and Applications for Blended Learning in K-20 Classrooms is an academic publication that focuses on pedagogical strategies and technologies that have been successfully employed by educators in blended instruction. In addition, the student outcomes from the use of these techniques are presented. Covering a wide range of topics such as gamification, civic education, and critical thinking, this book is essential for academicians, administrators, educators, instructors, researchers, instructional designers, curriculum developers, principals, early childhood educators, higher education faculty, and students.
Book Synopsis Developing Models in Science Education by : J.K. Gilbert
Download or read book Developing Models in Science Education written by J.K. Gilbert and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2000-11-30 with total page 404 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Models and modelling play a central role in the nature of science, in its conduct, in the accreditation and dissemination of its outcomes, as well as forming a bridge to technology. They therefore have an important place in both the formal and informal science education provision made for people of all ages. This book is a product of five years collaborative work by eighteen researchers from four countries. It addresses four key issues: the roles of models in science and their implications for science education; the place of models in curricula for major science subjects; the ways that models can be presented to, are learned about, and can be produced by, individuals; the implications of all these for research and for science teacher education. The work draws on insights from the history and philosophy of science, cognitive psychology, sociology, linguistics, and classroom research, to establish what may be done and what is done. The book will be of interest to researchers in science education and to those taking courses of advanced study throughout the world.

Book Synopsis The Reliefs of the Chapel of Nebhepetra Mentuhotep at Gebelein by : Elisa Fiore Marochetti
Download or read book The Reliefs of the Chapel of Nebhepetra Mentuhotep at Gebelein written by Elisa Fiore Marochetti and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2009-12-14 with total page 227 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1910 Ernesto Schiaparelli, along with the Italian Archaeological Mission on behalf of the Regio Museo di Antichità Egizie, excavated the area where, during the Eleventh Dynasty, King Nebhepetre Mentuhotep erected a chapel to the goddess Hathor at the site of Gebelein. Some of the blocks belonging to this chapel had already been moved to the Cairo Museum during the nineteenth century, and finds during Schiaparelli’s campaign were taken to the Egyptian Museum at Turin. In this work, Elisa Fiore Marochetti presents documents from these two museums and gives an architectonic and decorative reconstitution of an unknown monument. The mostly unpublished blocks and fragments, presented here as the General Catalogue of the Turin Museum, follow a general introduction to the geographical, religious, and historical setting of Gebelein and of the chapel before Mentuhotep’s reunification of the land. The dating of the chapel is formulated on the basis of the iconographical style of the reliefs and of the titulary borne by Mentuhotep. "The publication therefore not only presents a valuable reference to the Egyptian antiquities housed in Turin’s Egyptian Museum. It also presents a valuable addition to literature on Egyptian temple decoration and development, royal iconography, kingship and the course of events on the verge of the Middle Kingdom." Nico Staring, Macquarie University

Book Synopsis Frontiers in Relativistic Celestial Mechanics by : Sergei M. Kopeikin
Download or read book Frontiers in Relativistic Celestial Mechanics written by Sergei M. Kopeikin and published by . This book was released on 2014 with total page 350 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Relativistic celestial mechanics - investigating the motion celestial bodies under the influence of general relativity - is a major tool of modern experimental gravitational physics. With a wide range of prominent authors from the field, this two-volume series consists of reviews on a multitude of advanced topics in the area of relativistic celestial mechanics - starting from more classical topics such as the regime of asymptotically-flat spacetime, light propagation and celestial ephemerides, but also including its role in cosmology and alternative theories of gravity as well as modern experiments in this area. This first volume of a two-volume series is concerned with theoretical foundations such as post-Newtonian solutions to the two-body problem, light propagation through time-dependent gravitational fields, as well as cosmological effects on the movement of bodies in the solar systems. On the occasion of his 80-th birthday, these two volumes honor V. A. Brumberg - one of the pioneers in modern relativistic celestial mechanics.
