Book excerpt: Butterfly Faith is a book about Hope, Faith, and how they coincide with God's purpose for our lives. God is a God of purpose and He created each person with a plan in mind. No one was created just because God was bored. God has a purpose for every person. The butterfly has a purpose because God created it and God never makes anything without knowing why he made it first. So if you are trying to figure out why you were created, allow God to minister to your spirit. God says in His word that He has a plan for each of us. Plans to prosper us. Plans to give us a Hope and a future. Hope fuels faith and faith moves us closer to our purpose. Without faith it is impossible to please God. The revelation that I received from the Holy Spirit allowed me to pen how our faith correlates with the process the caterpillar goes through in order to fulfill its purpose. Just like the caterpillar we too can emerge into our purpose if we don't lose hope, keep the faith and pursue God for our purpose. Seek Him first always.

Book excerpt: From Michael Rosenblum, the bestselling author of Happily Ever Always: A Guide to Personal Transformation, Security, Confidence, and Healthy Self, comes a debut book for beginning readers. This ageless story introduces us to a caterpillar named “Fear”. Fear is afraid of everything – the other critters who share the garden, lightning storms, being bullied and making new friends. A chance encounter with a wise butterfly named “Faith” helps Fear find the courage within to experience the world in a bolder and more joy-filled way. Rosenblum’s message for children is simple yet profound: fear is just faith turned inside out. “Children will realize that changing fear to faith is up to them as they explore this magical story. Bravo, Michael Rosenblum!” Dr. Kathleen Hagstrom Principal Walt Disney Magnet School Chicago Public Schools

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “In this satisfying, lyrical memoir,” an American woman discovers her true faith—and true love—by converting to Islam and moving to Egypt (Publishers Weekly). Raised in Boulder, Colorado, G. Willow Wilson moved to Egypt and converted to Islam shortly after college. Having written extensively on modern religion and the Middle East in publications such as The Atlantic Monthly and The New York Times Magazine, Wilson now shares her remarkable story of finding faith, falling in love, and marrying into a traditional Islamic family in this “intelligently written and passionately rendered memoir” (The Seattle Times, 27 Best Books of 2010). Despite her atheist upbringing, Willow always felt a connection to god. Around the time of 9/11, she took an Islamic Studies course at Boston University, and found the teachings of the Quran astounding, comforting, and profoundly transformative. She decided to risk everything to convert to Islam, embarking on a journey across continents and into an uncertain future. Settling in Cairo where she taught English, she soon met and fell in love with Omar, a passionate young man with a mild resentment of the Western influences in his homeland. Torn between the secular West and Muslim East, Willow—with her shock of red hair, shaky Arabic, and Western candor—struggled to forge a “third culture” that might accommodate her values as well as her friends and family on both sides of the divide. Part travelogue, love story, and memoir, “Wilson has written one of the most beautiful and believable narratives about finding closeness with God” (The Denver Post).

Book excerpt: A NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER Roma Downey—best known as the beloved angel on the TV show Touched by an Angel—“has created a beautiful and personal testimony to the presence of God in our lives and our world” (Most Reverend José H. Gomez, Archbishop of Los Angeles). Ever since she was a little girl, Roma has seen butterflies as a reminder of God’s presence. They have appeared to her in moments when she needed encouragement, reminding her that she is not alone. In this deeply personal book, Roma shares stories from her life, alongside quotes, poems, scripture, and artwork that she prays will uplift you as they have her. Reminiscent of the message of her popular television series, Touched by an Angel, this book’s central theme is that there is a God, He loves you, and that even in your most difficult moments, He is by your side. The subtle butterfly theme reminds us that the wonder of God’s love and kindness is sometimes reflected in the gentle whispers of His creation and that we all have the power to transform from simple caterpillars into exquisite butterflies. This inspirational book invites you to return to its pages again and again, as life brings new challenges, or you find yourself in need of new inspiration. Box of Butterflies “will touch you and move you and strengthen you” (Kathie Lee Gifford).

Book excerpt: Do you want God to transform you and your entire life? Perhaps you have tried time and time again to have an eternal life-changing transformation in life and nothing emerged. Today, God desires to give you a spiritual makeover, that is, one that you'll never forget, and one that transcends everything you've ever known. God will change you from the inside-out. In Elizabeth's new book "The Butterfly," she shares her deepest writings as she journey through the different stages of the metamorphosis of a butterfly, as it may be similar to our spiritual transformation experienced in Christ. So, keep your eyes opened, ears unclogged, and hear what the spirit is saying to "the church." Included in this refreshing new book are 50 devotionals, some of the writings are as though the prophets, disciples, and Jesus are speaking directly to you. These writings were written during a time of complexity, illness, and enduring faith. Elizabeth shares her experiences and gives further details about how Jesus shows up when you least expect him, that is, in despair, loneliness, sickness, times when it seems like hope is gone, and when he is calling you into another dimension of his glory. These readings will help you discover purpose and transformation in your life, as you are guided by the Spirit of the Living God, because "Life without God (i.e. Jesus Christ) is no life at all."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God's ultimate plan for His people is one of transformation. All of us are born in God's image, but His ultimate desire is for us to be transformed into His likeness. For this metamorphosis to occur, we must stop competing with God to be the master of our lives. Just as a butterfly changes from a larval caterpillar, all human beings are to be transformed into their mature form, a person possessing the nature and character of Jesus. Butterfly people see the world from God's perspective and experience more joy and peace in life. Caterpillars are left behind to see the world from man's perspective and suffer from immature, pathological thinking, dysfunctional relationships, and self-serving religions and governments. God designed our world for Christ-centered butterflies that can live in the light of His wisdom and truth, not caterpillars that stumble through life and remain lost in the darkness of their self-centered world. In Only God Can Make A Butterfly, David Delnostro, M.D. walks you through the psychological, interpersonal, political and medical advantages of soaring through life as a butterfly and the pathological consequences of crawling through life as a caterpillar. David J. Delnostro, M.D. is a graduate of Ohio State University College of Medicine. He began his medical career in 1980 in Savannah, Georgia as an emergency room physician at Candler Hospital. For the past twenty-six years, he has practiced family medicine and currently is a member of Southcoast Medical Group in Savannah. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the oldest of six children. Although he was raised by a Catholic father and a Jewish mother, he never practiced either religion. At age forty, he began his life-changing relationship with Jesus. Currently, he serves as a deacon and Divorce Recovery leader at Savannah Christian Church.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What do you do when the pieces are scattered? How do you find yourself when everything you thought you knew about yourself seems lost? Who do you turn to when the reflection in the mirror is someone you no longer know? When do you decide that its time to transform, not only your life but also everything in it? The stages we go through in life, the encounters we have, and the moments that turn our lives in multiple directions are the very things we need to transform. Every butterfly is born a caterpillar. To some, that caterpillar is ugly and unattractive, its true purpose only very few of us know. Many of us just see the beautiful ending in the butterfly. But what does it take to get there? The place in life we are in now is most important, it's where we evolve, change, and transform. People will often times say you have changed and you are not the same. Well, as you grow in God and transform, you shouldn't be the same. There should be something different in your walk, your talk, the way you live, and the way you think. As each person positively transforms into God's desired masterpiece, we should be in awe of amazement and joy of not only what God has done but that you were privileged to journey with them. Now, let me journey with you as you begin, start over, or pick up where you left off in transforming. Remember don't despise any stage you are in when transforming; even the caterpillar has a lot to offer. As a matter of fact, caterpillars have quite a few amazing facts three of which stick out to me: (1) the caterpillars only job is to eat; (2) caterpillars maintain their legs, even after transforming into butterflies; and (3) caterpillars have to be creative in defending themselves. As growing women transforming into the image that God has created us to be, our main job should be to eat. We should be consuming God's love, His word, and everything God has for us to receive. Like the caterpillar, there are some things that God has planted in each of us that we will not be without at the end of blossoming into the beauty we were made to be. In life, we are going to go through an abundance of experiences; to top it off, the devil spends a lot of time scheming and planning attacks against us. Finding the tools that help us move gracefully in life is often hard. The Bible is always the best guide to dodging every bullet, but without studying the word of God, you never learn to use it to its full capacity. Are you ready to finally to get your wings? We are all becoming, so just BECOME!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is never a day when a butterfly in any stage is the same as it was the day before. This is also true of people. The author uses metamorphosis as an analogy, breaking down the steps to personal growth, making it easier to understand, and the process interesting and fun. Inspired by a study of Rom 12:1–2, Butterfly Believers consists of forty devotional readings, each one based on one aspect of the butterfly life cycle. In the same way a butterfly changes every single day, Butterfly Believers are also transforming continuously, moving towards spiritual depth and maturity. In each short chapter, the author presents a specific fact about the egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, or imago, adding one or two appropriate Scripture verses. The result is an inspiring devotional about moving step by step towards maturity and blossoming into the beautiful Imago Dei. Suitable for personal devotions, group discussion, or as a resource for preaching.

Book excerpt: Based on the real orchestra composed of prisoners at Auschwitz, The Butterfly and the Violin shows how beauty and hope can penetrate even the darkest corners. Present day: Manhattan art dealer Sera James watched her world crumble at the altar two years ago, and her heart is still fragile. Her desire for distraction reignites a passion for a mysterious portrait she first saw as a young girl—a painting of a young violinist with piercing blue eyes. In her search for the painting, Sera crosses paths with William Hanover—the grandson of a wealthy California real estate mogul—who may be the key to uncovering the hidden masterpiece. Together Sera and William slowly unravel the story behind the painting’s subject: Austrian violinist Adele Von Bron. 1942: A darling of the Austrian aristocracy, talented violinist, and daughter to a high-ranking member of the Third Reich, Adele Von Bron risks everything when she begins smuggling Jews out of Vienna. In a heartbeat, her life of prosperity and privilege dissolves into a world of starvation and barbed wire. As Sera untangles the secrets behind the painting, she finds beauty in the most unlikely places: the grim concentration camps of Auschwitz and the inner recesses of her own troubled heart. “Cambron expertly weaves together multiple plotlines, timelines, and perspectives to produce a poignant tale of the power of love and faith in difficult circumstances.
