Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Simon Burr (1618-1692/3) was born at Stisted, England, the son of Henry and Ann Fisher Burr. He immigrated to America and settled first at Dorchester, Massachusetts. He and his first wife, Rose (d. 1644) had one daughter in 1639. They settled at Hingham, Massachusetts, after 1639. He and his second wife, Hester, were married in 1648. They had four children, 1655-1668. Record chiefly follows line of descent to Salmon Burr (1787-1853) of the fifth generation. He was born in Bristol County, Massachusetts, the son of Rufus Burr, and the grandson of Seth Burr, a Revolutionary War soldier. He married Azuba Thomas (1791-1871) in 1809 at Dana Massachusetts, in 1809. They had nine children, ca. 1810-1827, all born at East Clarendon, Rutland County, Vermont. Salmon and Azuba Burr died at Darien, Genesse County, New York. Children and grandchildren listed lived in New York, Vermont, Illinois and South Dakota.
