Aufgrund der steigenden Burnout-Zahlen im Pflegebereich beschäftigt sich diese Hausarbeit mit präventiven Maßnahmen für die Reduktion eines Burnout-Risikos. Zu Beginn dieser Arbeit wird der Begriff „Burnout“ definiert und klassifiziert. Zusätzlich wird ein möglicher Verlauf mit den verschiedenen Symptomen anhand des 12-Phasen-Modells von Freudenberger dargestellt. Das dritte Kapitel beschäftigt sich mit Burnout im Pflegebereich und umfasst somit den Schwerpunkt dieser Arbeit. Mithilfe des Phasenmodells von Burisch werden mögliche Burnout-Symptome im Verlauf präsentiert. Die Beschreibung der organisatorischen, individuellen und teambezogenen Risikofaktoren ermöglicht eine studienbasierte Darlegung möglicher Präventionsmaßnahmen für Pflegekräfte. Am Ende dieser wissenschaftlichen Arbeit werden die wichtigsten Aspekte zusammengefasst und die Forschungsfrage beantwortet. Abschließend werden Anregungen für die zukünftige Forschung dargelegt.

Im Anschluss werden die Autoren sich eingehend mit der betrieblichen Gesundheitsförderung beschäftigen, wobei sowohl auf die Definitionen als auch die Ziele eingegangen wird. Schließlich werden die Autoren herausstellen, welche Maßnahmen Führungskräfte in Unternehmen ergreifen können, um Burnout-Prävention zu betreiben. Dabei lassen sich die Ergebnisse natürlich nicht nur auf Betriebe anwenden, sondern gelten gleichermaßen für die Pflege.

Häufig wird von Belastungen, Beanspruchungen, Stress und vor allem Burnout gesprochen. Es gibt bereits zahlreiche Untersuchungen zum Thema Burnout im Bereich der Pflege, die immer wieder belegen, dass es sich um ein ernstzunehmendes Problem handelt. Ausgehend von der Definition des Begriffs „Burnout“ und den verschiedenen Ursachen der Erkrankung, werden mögliche Diagnoseverfahren beleuchtet. Im Verlauf werden mögliche Folgen der Erkrankung sowie die Prävalenz von Burnout in Deutschland beschrieben. Abschließend werden mögliche Präventionsstrategien und das methodische Vorgehen der Arbeit vorgestellt. Der Begriff Burnout bezeichnet einen plötzlich einsetzenden oder langsam beginnenden Zustand körperlicher, geistiger und gefühlsmäßiger Erschöpfung. Es wird von einem Burnout gesprochen, wenn eine dauerhafte Gefährdung der seelischen und körperlichen Gesundheit durch Belastungen und Stress im Arbeitsalltag vorliegt. Erstmals erwähnt wurde der Begriff Burnout im Jahre 1974 vom Psychoanalytiker Herbert J. Freudenberger. Er beobachtete sowohl an sich selbst als auch an seinen Kollegen eine Form des „Ausgebranntseins“. Freudenberger übte mehrere Tätigkeiten aus, hatte eine Familie und arbeitete zudem ehrenamtlich mit drogensüchtigen jungen Prostituierten. Bei diesen Tätigkeiten bemerkte er eine zunehmende Erschöpfung. Er fühlte sich ausgelaugt, schneller reizbar und dauernd müde. Seine Prioritätensetzung veränderte sich dahingehend, dass er kaum noch Zeit für Familie, Freunde und Hobbys hatte. Im Verlaufe beobachtete er seine Kollegen und erkannte, dass diese ähnliche Symptome zeigten.

Die Arbeit wird immer komplexer und der Stress steigt. Die Weltgesundheitsorganisation (WHO) bezeichnet Stress als die grosste Gesundheitsgefahr dieses Jahrhunderts. Laut einer Studie der AOK im Jahre 2011 haben sich die Ausfalle wegen Burn-out seit 1999 in zwolf Jahren um 80 Prozent zugenommen. In einer andern Studie der Krankenkasse gaben 2009 ein Drittel der Befragten starke psychische Belastungen und sogar zwei Drittel klagten uber allgemeine psychische und psychosomatische Symptome."

In the light of demographic change, it is becoming increasingly important to develop and use the potential of older employees. This edited volume Age-differentiated Work Systems provides a final report on a six-year priority program funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and presents selected research findings of 17 interdisciplinary project teams. The idea is that it will serve both as a reference book and overview of the current state of research in ergonomics, occupational psychology and related disciplines. It provides new models, methods, and procedures for analyzing and designing age-differentiated work systems with the aim of supporting subject matter experts from different areas in their decisions on labor and employment policies. Therefore over 40 laboratory experiments involving 2,000 participants and 50 field studies involving over 25,000 employees were conducted. Further objectives of the edited volume were to provide a pluridisciplinary compilation of the extensive information acquired over the six-year program period, to illustrate the range of the research field, and to convey an integrated understanding of age-differentiated work systems to readers.

Book excerpt: The preparation of this volume began with a conference held at Trier University, approximately thirty years after the publication of the first Belief in a Just World (BJW) manuscript. The location of the conference was especially appropriate given the continued interest that the Trier faculty and students had for BJW research and theory. As several chapters in this volume document, their research together with the other contributors to this volume have added to the current sophistication and status of the BJW construct. In the 1960s and 1970s Melvin Lerner, together with his students and colleagues, developed his justice motive theory. The theory of Belief in a Just World (BJW) was part of that effort. BJW theory, meanwhile in its thirties, has become very influential in social and behavioral sciences. As with every widely applied concept and theory there is a natural develop mental history that involves transformations, differentiation of facets, and efforts to identify further theoretical relationships. And, of course, that growth process will not end unless the theory ceases to develop. In this volume this growth is reconstructed along Furnham's stage model for the development of scientific concepts. The main part of the book is devoted to current trends in theory and research.
