This book was released on 2022-11-08 with total page 1763 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Started in 1958, Sanathana Sarathi is a monthly magazine devoted to Sathya (Truth), Dharma (Righteousness), Shanti (Peace) and Prema (Love) - the four cardinal principles of Bhagawan Baba's philosophy. It is published from Prasanthi Nilayam (the Abode of Highest Peace) and acts as a mouthpiece of Baba's Ashram as it speaks of the important events that take place in His sacred Abode, besides carrying Divine Messages conveyed through Divine Discourses of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The word meaning of Sanathana Sarathi is the 'Eternal Charioteer'. It signifies the presence of the Lord in every being as the atma guiding their lives like a charioteer. It implies that he who places his life, the body being likened to a chariot, in an attitude of surrender in the hands of the Lord, will be taken care of by the Lord even as a charioteer would take the occupant of his chariot safely to its destination. The magazine is an instrument to disseminate spiritual knowledge for the moral, physical and mental uplift of humanity without any discrimination as the subject matter discussed therein is always of common interest and of universal appeal. The fifteen Vahinis - streams of sacredness - known as the Vahini Series comprising annotation and interpretation of the Upanishads and other scriptures, Itihasas like the Ramayana, the Bhagavatha and the Mahabharata, and authentic explanations on Dhyana, Dharma, Prema, etc., have been serially published in this magazine as and when they emanated from the Divine pen of Bhagawan Baba. This magazine is published in almost all Indian languages, English and Telugu from Prasanthi Nilayam and others from respective regions. Every year Sanathana Sarathi comes out with a special issue in November commemorating the Divine Birthday. The English and Telugu magazines are posted on the 10th and 23rd respectively, of every month, from Prasanthi Nilayam. This magazine has wide, ever increasing circulation in India as well as abroad, as the study of it brings the reader closer to the philosophy of the Avatar in simple understandable language THUS SPAKE SAI... Discoursing during the launch of Sanathana Sarathi... From this day, our Sanathana Sarathi will lead to victory the cohorts of truth - the Vedas, the Sastras and similar scriptures of all faiths, against the forces of the ego such as injustice, falsehood, immorality and cruelty. This is the reason why it has emerged. This Sarathi will fight in order to establish world prosperity. It is bound to sound the paean of triumph when universal Ananda is achieved.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What if you were to look at human suffering, pain, and loss with another lens? Not as something that you merely make it through but as something that you move around within. In this fresh, creative, and provocative new book, Jeffrey Tucker explores suffering in new ways, challenging our existing beliefs and theologies while offering a healthier and more helpful approach to viewing ourselves, our faith, and others in the face of suffering. Tucker addresses specific and practical questions that we often ask ourselves when we suffer--attempting to locate our suffering, our identity, the persons of the Divine, our support, and our hope in the process. He also engages us along the way by wrapping wisdom within the framework of a story of an old man on an island who is seeking answers to his pain and loss. The journey takes unexpected turns as the old man learns new ways to walk and to live in the midst of his pain. As we join the old man in his walk, we learn new ways as well. This highly readable and accessible book offers thought-provoking and transforming ideas for persons of every walk of life and faith.
Book Synopsis Reflections - The Masters Remember by : Edwin Courtenay
Download or read book Reflections - The Masters Remember written by Edwin Courtenay and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2004-01-01 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE ASCENDED MASTERS’ PATH TO PERFECTION Many people are fascinated by the idea of reincarnation, yet it is important to live fully in the here and now. So it is not this book’s intention to promote an escape from reality but rather to show how memories from past lives can actually help us to walk the path of our current life. For this reason the Masters have decided to speak about who they were in past lives and what they have learnt. - Saint Germain tells us about his lives as Merlin, Christopher Columbus, Francis Bacon and Saint Germain; - Jesus speaks of his time in Atlantis and - Serapis Bey of his experiences as an incarnate angel. - Also read the stories of Lady Portia, Kwan Yin, Mother Mary, Mary Magdalene and Djwal Khul. The themes of their lives are mirrored in our lives: the search for our own identity, our relationships, finding our life purpose, self-acceptance, surrender and compassion. As with Edwin Courtenay’s first book „The Ascended Masters‘ Book of Ritual and Prayer“, this one also radiates magic, charm, love and understanding. Those passages which touch us most give us messages and pointers to the areas we may need to work on in this life. What could be more consoling than to know that our brothers and sisters in the light, the Ascended Masters, had to overcome the same issues as we do? Be comforted, embraced and enchanted by the stories in this book.

In this study, Fr. Patrick Hartin looks at each gospel and asks such questions as Who is Jesus? and What transformation does this encounter with Jesus invite? Hartin thoroughly unpacks these questions, and then follows with examples of people who embody the transformative power of these spiritualities, from Saint Francis and Dorothy Day to Saint Augustine and Archbishop Romero. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Job, one of the godliest men who ever lived, God shows us first that no saint is exempt from suffering. Second, he teaches us that because the faith of his children is precious to him, he throws it in the roaring fires of affliction, to remove its impurities and to reveal its heavenly quality. Third, and when we ask God why, his answer is, "For My glory." Armed with these three truths, we can face suffering with confidence in our Father's wisdom and love, overcome the world by faith that looks to the power of Jesus Christ in us, and endure the fires by holding fast to his promises.
Book Synopsis Now You are God’s People by : Justin Welby
Download or read book Now You are God’s People written by Justin Welby and published by SCM Press. This book was released on 2024-02-29 with total page 77 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What are the key questions of the First Letter of Peter, how does it offer questions and challenges for us today and ultimately how does it speak to readers 2000 years after it was composed? Justin Welby, Jennifer Strawbridge and Abigail Harries Martin develop the expositions offered by Archbishop Justin at the 2022 Lambeth Conference to explore the key themes from 1 Peter and draw out questions and challenges from 1 Peter for today’s church and world. Acknowledging that key words and phrases from 1 Peter are understood differently in different contexts – such as language of suffering, definitions of holiness, and how we describe hope - this volume also innovatively draws in voices from more than 20 countries including Kenya, Mozambique, the USA, Malaysia, DRC, Pakistan, and New Zealand. The volume concludes with five short reflections on the epistle from Isabelle Hamley, Paul Swarup, Esther Mombo and Godfrey Adera, Paulo Ueti and Jennifer Strawbridge.
Book Synopsis Japan Encyclopedia by : Louis-Frédéric
Download or read book Japan Encyclopedia written by Louis-Frédéric and published by Harvard University Press. This book was released on 2002 with total page 1130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Knowing Japan and the Japanese better," Louis Frédéric states in the introduction to this encyclopedia, "is one of the necessities of modern life." The Japanese have a profound knowledge of every aspect and detail of Western societies. Unfortunately, we in the West cannot say the same about our knowledge of Japan. We tend to see Japan through a veil of exoticism, as a land of ancient customs and exquisite arts; or we view it as a powerful contributor to the global economy, the source of cutting-edge electronics and innovative management techniques. To go beyond these clichés, we must begin to see how apparently contradictory aspects of modern Japanese culture spring from the country's evolution through more than two millennia of history. This richly detailed yet concise encyclopedia is a guide to the full range of Japanese history and civilization, from the dawn of its prehistory to today, providing clear and accessible information on society and institutions, commerce and industry, sciences, sports, and politics, with particular emphasis on religion, material culture, and the arts. The volume is enhanced by maps and illustrations, along with a detailed chronology of more than 2,000 years of Japanese history and a comprehensive bibliography. Cross-references and an index help the reader trace themes from one article to the next. Japan Encyclopedia will be an indispensable one-volume reference for students, scholars, travelers, journalists, and anyone who wishes to learn more about the past and present of this great world civilization.
Download or read book A God Complex written by Craig Downey and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2015-03-30 with total page 159 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As we move into the next books in the series, I am probably skirting very close to the edge of what would be one of the symptoms of my condition. But it was very hard to leave much of this material out for a number of reasons. The first of these is that one cannot describe the lust for life that can be obtained when suffering the extremes of some conditions, such as manic depression, and some of the insights one discovers in the peaks of these conditions can be just as the book states it. That is to say if one has clarity during these times. Much of the material I have written during these times are actually during such experiences, but in hindsight, during editing, the material appears so comprehensive and logical I decided to include it to really give one insight into some true inner workings of the mind and the bigger issues we can face in our lives.
