Book Synopsis Easy Guide to Mesmerism and Hypnotism by : Marco Paret
Download or read book Easy Guide to Mesmerism and Hypnotism written by Marco Paret and published by ISI-CNV. This book was released on 2007 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This unique Book is the new enlarged and complete version of the earlier "Easy Guide to Mesmerism and Hypnotism", with added text and notes. Dr. Paret personally reviewed this new Edition as he applies with incredible success this ancient methodology into which he was personally initiated. Mesmerism is completely different from modern hypnosis. Mesmerism is the Western school corresponding to the use of Prana or Ki (Chi) in Orient. Parts of the teachings of this school were never completely disclosed in print. Dr. Paret, who is a genuine practitioner, wrote a serie of notes which allow a better understanding of practical applications of these techniques and their actualness. Many of the powerful results of Mesmerism are scarcely reachable if only pursued through verbal hypnosis. Dr. Paret therefore accompanies you through your reading. You will not only find here the original text of Dr. Coates, but also a better understanding of the original school of magnetism. If you really want to immerse in this powerful world, this is your occasion!
Book Synopsis Hypnosis at its Bicentennial by : F. H. Frankel
Download or read book Hypnosis at its Bicentennial written by F. H. Frankel and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 365 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: since the first International Congress for Experimental and Therapeutic Hypnotism in Paris in 1889, there have been several per iods of widespread interest in hypnosis among the professions as well as the lay public, followed by periods of profound neglect. Since the end of World War II, however, we have witnessed not only a strong resurgence of interest in hypnosis throughout the world but also the gradual development of the kind of infrastructure which a field requires to survive and prosper. The burgeoning clinical literature has been matched by a dramatic increase in the amount of systematic research carried out in a wide range of institu tions throughout the world. A tradition of triennial major world congresses has been established, beginning with the 3rd International Congress for Hypnosis and Psychosomatic Medicine in Paris in 1965. These meetings, encouraged and sponsored by the International Society of Hypnosis and its predecessor, the International Society of Clini cal and Experimental Hypnosis, are sponsored by universities and provide a forum for the exchange of ideas among scientists and clinicians throughout the world.
Download or read book Hypnotic Writing written by Joe Vitale and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2006-12-22 with total page 295 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Discover the secrets of written persuasion! "The principles of hypnosis, when applied to copywriting, add a new spin to selling. Joe Vitale has taken hypnotic words to set the perfect sales environment and then shows us how to use those words to motivate a prospect to take the action you want. This is truly a new and effective approach to copywriting, which I strongly recommend you learn. It's pure genius." -Joseph Sugarman, author of Triggers "I've read countless book on persuasion, but none come close to this one in showing you exactly how to put your readers into a buying trance that makes whatever you are offering them irresistible." -David Garfinkel, author of Advertising Headlines That Make You Rich "I am a huge fan of Vitale and his books, and Hypnotic Writing (first published more than twenty years ago), is my absolute favorite. Updated with additional text and fresh examples, especially from e-mail writing, Joe's specialty, Hypnotic Writing is the most important book on copywriting (yes, that's really what it is about) to be published in this century. Read it. It will make you a better copywriter, period." -Bob Bly, copywriter and author of The Copywriter's Handbook "I couldn't put this book down. It's eye opening and filled with genuinely new stuff about writing and persuading better. And it communicates it brilliantly and teaches it brilliantly-exemplifying the techniques by the writing of the book itself as you go along." -David Deutsch, author of Think Inside the Box, www.thinkinginside.com "Hypnotic Writing is packed with so much great information it's hard to know where to start. The insights, strategies, and tactics in the book are easy to apply yet deliver one heck of a punch. And in case there's any question how to apply them, the before-and-after case studies drive the points home like nothing else can. Hypnotic Writing is not just about hypnotic writing. It is hypnotic writing. On the count of three, you're going to love it. Just watch and see." -Blair Warren, author of The Forbidden Keys to Persuasion

Book Synopsis Modern Trends in Hypnosis by : David Waxman
Download or read book Modern Trends in Hypnosis written by David Waxman and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 513 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 9th International Congress of Hypnosis and Psychosomatic Medicine expresses the continuity in the effort to gain scientific knowledge of hypnosis and scientific status for it, ever since the 1st International Congress for Experimental and Therapeutic Hypnotism was held in Paris in 1889, attended by many of the best-remembered psychiatrists and psychologists of the day - men such as Babinski, Bernheim, Binet, Delboeuf, Freud, James, Lombroso, F. W. H. Myers, Ribot, and many others. The continuity was broken by the period of reduced interest in hypnosis between the time of the 2nd Inter national Congress for Hypnotism in Paris in 1900, and the revival of interest shown by the 3rd International Congress for Hypnosis and Psychosomatic Medicine in Paris in 1965. Since then, the Congresses have met more regularly, making the one of which this is the report, the 9th. The programs of these Congresses have become increasingly rich through the years, with many of the older problems still with us but now studied more dispassionately in the light of new knowledge and new scientific methods in the design of investigations and the vali dation of scientific findings.

Download or read book Hypnosis written by Ronald E. Shor and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-07-12 with total page 813 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thorough revision of the first edition, updates and expands, with 25 percent new material, what was generally recognized as a major survey of contemporary scientific research in hypnosis. In this edition, also a classic, the editors include three new essays in modern hypnosis studies. They also provide a new conceptual framework--cognitive, ego-psychological, and phenomenological--with which to examine hypnosis. This edition is divided into six sections--Theoretical and Historical Perspectives, New Theories, Surveys of Broad Areas, Lines of Individual Research, Individual Researches within Specific Areas, and Anticipations for Future Research. The entire book was completely revised in the light of additional research since publication of the original edition. Thirteen of the twenty chapters in the first edition were updated by their authors, six so extensively that they amount to new chapters, with changes in title and order of authors in the case of coauthored chapters. Hypnosis: Developments in Research and New Perspectives is intended for researchers in hypnosis and clinical practitioners in medicine and psychology. The focus, as indicated by the changed subtitle, is on developments since publication of the original editions: empirical studies, experiments with physiological indicators of hypnosis, and theoretical uses associated with use of hypnosis as a research tool. Altogether, this second edition is a valuable overall guide to an intriguing topic.
Book Synopsis The Practical Application of Medical and Dental Hypnosis by : Milton H. Erickson
Download or read book The Practical Application of Medical and Dental Hypnosis written by Milton H. Erickson and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-01-14 with total page 405 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "During the past several years there have been ever-increasing numbers of physicians, dentists, and psychologists interested in hypnosis, both therapeutic and investigative. Reliable sources of clinical information and instruction were practically non-existent except for a few scattered individuals. To meet this need, to interest universities, and to stimulate medical and dental schools to an awareness of the importance of teaching clinical hypnosis, a group of experienced clinicians competent in teaching were formed. Throughout the United States, under the auspices of various professional societies and universities, this group conducted seminars on hypnosis. "This book is compiled from the tape recordings of dozens of those seminars, and thus it contains the material as it was presented, with all the simplicity, directness, and effectiveness of the classroom presentation. "It is no more, no less, than a comprehensive presentation of the material upon which thousands of clinicians throughout the United States have based the initiation and development of their successful clinical use of hypnosis." -Milton H. Erickson, M.D. (1961)

Download or read book Hypnosis written by Robert Shor and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-09-08 with total page 674 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although research and practice in hypnosis has seen unprecedented expansion, there has been a definite lack of inclusive and comprehensive surveys to aid the student and researcher. This collection of original chapters written by leading experimental investigators is the first work to offer a current state-of-the-art in hypnosis research. A compendium of the historical background, theories, issues, and trends in hypnosis, this volume represents all major experimental viewpoints while providing a virtual ""who's who"" in the field of hypnosis. The first two chapters (written by the editors) establish the current theoretical base of the field and review the historical background. Seventeen contributions focus directly on key aspects of present day hypnosis research. These contributions are organized as surveys of broad topic areas, descriptions in depth of individual investigator's programmatic lines of research, and reports on research within specific areas, especially those representing new viewpoints and holding promise for programmatic development. A final chapter develops questions for future research.Offering an inclusive survey of the field from its historical inceptions to its current and predictive state, this book presents many new ideas while updating established positions in research and theory. The vital areas covered in connection with hypnosis include: psychophysiology, creativity, dreams, imagination, suggestibility, simulator controls, cognitive activity, and ego-psychological theory. In addition there are chapters on hypnosis as a research method, the measurement of altered states of consciousness, and hypnotic programming techniques in psychological experiments. Hypnosis: Research Developments and Perspectives is written for researchers in hypnosis and clinical practitioners in medicine and psychology. The book will serve as a basic text in all courses in hypnosis at the graduate level.
