That was when Christian Boros opened the home of his private collection in Berlin-Mitte, a bunker built in 1941 that was converted to accommodate his art. To date, 90,000 visitors have seen the first exhibition featuring selected works, exploring the eighty rooms on five floors after registering for guided tours held on weekends. Starting in the fall of 2011, a new set of works will be on view, once again staged by the artists themselves with a keen sense for the architectonic setting. The new hanging features paintings by Tomma Abts, Franz Ackermann, and Thomas Scheibitz, installations by Klara Lidn and Alicja Kwade, and photographs by Wolfgang Tillmans, to name only some of the artists included. This up-to-date book of the collection features high-quality illustrations. The collector himself speaks about the art in a wide-ranging conversation with Heinz-Norbert Jocks.
