Book excerpt: Reject the common beliefs around disability to cultivate self-acceptance, regain control, and navigate the path to genuine belonging. In Boldly Belong: The Power of Prioritizing You in a Disabling Society, dedicated disability inclusion advocate and process improvement specialist Julie Harris delivers an actionable guide for those navigating life with disabilities. It is a practical roadmap to belonging that challenges the unjust societal shame and stigmas that shape our beliefs of disability and ourselves. The book includes reflective exercises and practical strategies to incorporate the mindset of acceptance into everyday life. The author accepts the idea of limitations caused by disability as a neutral fact, rather than as a negative or positive, and shows us how to use limitations as parameters to accept and work within, rather than resist or reframe. In the book, you'll learn why self-acceptance, rather than trying to fit in or unrealistic, positive reframing, is the key to belonging. You'll also discover: How accepting your limitations, needs, and true self can lead to profound growth and possibility New insights that help you to question and deconstruct the harmful beliefs you've always been told to be true about you and your disability How to identify who you are and finally believe that you are enough Strategies for self-advocacy that effectively further your interests in a wide variety of settings and circumstances Perfect for people from all over the world who have a body or brain that works differently, Boldly Belong is also an essential read for business, academic, military, and athletic leaders who want to understand more about disability and cultivate disability inclusive environments that promote belonging.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Grace and Peace Congratulations on your first step to developing a personal relationship with God.. Welcome to the Family of God. You have a new address now, it is: The Kingdom of God. The class was developed to aide you in your Christian walk. The class will further develop your personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, JESUS CHRIST. The purpose of this manual is to give you a concrete purpose of God’s word, basic information. This is a crawl before you walk guide. This guide's design is to nurture the born-again Christians in spiritual growth. You get instruction (teaching) not to store, but to use. Spiritual growth means spiritual maturity. When a person is born again, there is a parallel to a newborn baby. The child will only grow physically and mentally if they have proper nourishment or instruction. If they are not given proper nourishment or instruction, they may grow physically, but they will never be all that they can be. The same is true of the born-again Christian. When we are saved--we are delivered from hell. If you get proper nourishment or instructions, you will be delivered from hell on earth. We have a process to go through. Some people never change, we have to change, (2 Corinthians 5:17). If you are born again, God lives inside of you, not part of God, but all of God—just like a baby born with all of its parts. Our thinking does not comprehend all that we have, that is why we have to go through stages. So sit back, read. Learn and enjoy. Then apply!

It is the divine right of every believer to walk in divine healing, divine health and divine life. However, as long as there are questions in your mind as to whether or not it is God's will to heal, your faith will be hampered from receiving what Jesus legally purchased for you. Sickness is the offspring of its parents, Satan and sin. It came into the earth on the wings of Adam's sin and infected all of humanity. Jesus came into the earth as Savior, Redeemer and Healer. The Scripture says, "Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit's power and went about doing good, healing all those who were oppressed of the devil." The devil is the oppressor and Jesus is the healer. Never forget this! Since Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever, He is still anointed to heal. The ministry of Jesus, today, is still a miraculous, healing ministry as it was when he first walked the streets of Jerusalem and the shores of Galilee. This book will answer the important healing questions and reveal God's thoughts towards your wellness. This book will eliminate doubts, banish fear and boost your faith to receive your inheritance. As you meditate upon the truths of these chapters, you will discover... -Did healing pass away with the apostles? -Is God glorified through sickness? -Am I entitled to divine health in old age? -How to resist sickness -How to receive your healing -101 healing promises -Daily healing confessions to cover your life His Word is medicine to our flesh. He sent His Word and His Word healed them all. You are part of the "all" He sent His Word to heal. Receive your healing NOW!

Book excerpt: Can faith as trusting God make a difference? Absolutely--by relieving our anxiety over self-justification and the need to scapegoat others. When we discover we don't justify ourselves because God has justified us, we become free. What Sin Boldly! points to is the presence of the crucified and living Christ in the human soul, placed there by the Holy Spirit. And this becomes transformative. Sin Boldly! provides an experiential analysis of the contrast between self-justification and justification by God. Those among us with fragile souls are anxious, and we shore up our anxiety with walls of self-justification that victimize those whom we scapegoat. Those among us with broken souls have lost the very moral universe that makes any kind of justification possible, and this usually leads to anomie and suicide. We must pose the question: how can the gospel of grace provide transformation for both fragile and broken souls? After an exposition of the Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification, this book proposes the following answer: trusting in the God of grace relieves anxiety and provides a divine vocation that transcends our moral universe with the promise of forgiveness, renewal, and resurrection.

Book excerpt: "Belonging has been a formative struggle for me. Like most people with marginalized identities, my experience has taught me that it's hard to be yourself and feel like you belong in a culture that is hostile to your existence. That's why my body of work as a scientist, author, professor, speaker, and advocate for body liberation always comes back to the impact of belonging or not belonging. Radical Belonging is my manifesto, helping us heal from the individual and collective trauma of injustice and support our transition from a culture of othering to one of belonging." —Lindo Bacon Too many of us feel alienated from our bodies. This isn't your personal failing; it means that our culture is failing you. We are in the midst of a cultural moment. #MeToo. #BlackLivesMatter. #TransIsBeautiful. #AbleismExists. #EffYourBeautyStandards. Those of us who don't fit into the "mythical norm" (white, male, cisgender, able-bodied, slender, Christian, etc.)—which is to say, most of us—are demanding our basic right: To know that who we are matters. To belong. Being "othered" and the body shame it spurs is not "just" a feeling. Being erased and devalued impacts our ability to regulate our emotions, our relationships with others, our health and longevity, our finances, our ability to realize dreams, and whether we will be accepted, loved, or even safe. Radical Belonging is not a simple self-love treatise. Focusing only on self-love ignores the important fact that we have negative experiences because our culture has targeted certain bodies and people for abuse or alienation. For marginalized people, a focus on self-love can be a spoonful of sugar that makes the oppression go down. This groundbreaking book goes further, helping us to manage the challenges that stem from oppression and moving beyond self-love and into belonging. With Lindo Bacon's signature blend of science and storytelling, Radical Belonging addresses the political, sociological, psychological and biological underpinnings of your experiences, helping you understand that the alienation and pain you are experiencing is not personal, but human. The problem is in injustice, not you as an individual. So many of us feel wounded by a culture that has alienated us from our bodies and divided us from each other. Radical Belonging provides strategies to reckon with the trauma of injustice; reclaim yourself, body and soul; and rewire your nervous system to better cope within an unjust world. It also provides strategies to help us all provide refuge for one another and create a culture of equity and empathy, one that respects, includes, and benefits from all its diverse peoples. Whether you are transgender, queer, Black, Indigenous or a Person of Color, disabled, old, or fat—or your more closely resemble the "mythical norm"—Radical Belonging is your guidebook for creating a world where all bodies are valued and all of us belong—and for coping with this one, until we make that new world a reality.

Book excerpt: Bill Johnson, Joyce Meyer, Heidi Baker. The fame of these names is evidence enough that, though the controversies are less intense, the Charismatic Movement is alive and well today. It continues to attract thousands of adherents who find its vision of a supernatural lifestyle uniquely compelling. Now, for the first time, all that is most theologically innovative about the movement is synthesized into five distinct and original ideas. These five brand new theologies have been created, not by theologians, but by practitioners who believed their concepts were inspired by the Spirit: Inner Healing, Shepherding, Word of Faith, Spiritual Warfare, and Signs and Wonders. Plenty of studies have been written by Pentecostal scholars about Pentecostal theology, but these tend to group the very distinct approaches of Charismatics together with Classical Pentecostals. Bold Faith aims to analyze and evaluate the ways in which practitioners within independent Charismatic networks, especially in their Anglo-American expressions, have responded to the challenges of secular modernity.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The very first mention of prayer or men praying can be found in the Holy Bible, in the Old Testament book of ""First Beginnings"" - the book of Genesis chapter 4, verse 26, which reads: ""And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on the name of the LORD."" Jesus Christ of Nazareth - the founder of Christianity spoke one thing about prayer in the book of Luke's Gospel, chapter 18, verse 1, that ""men should pray and not give up"" when he explained a parable to His beloved disciples concerning prayer. And when the people of Israel asked Jesus Christ how they should pray, He recited a prayer to His Father in Heaven that would be used to pray by billions of people all around the world.
