This book was released on 1975-01-01 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Following limited testing in 1972, extended excavations were conducted during 1973 and 1974 of the Cactus Flower site. Ten occupations and a long series of natural stratigraphic units were defined. Although sporadic occupation during the Pelican Lake phase is apparent, most of the levels are attributable to the McKean Complex, dated between 3000 and 1500 B.C. This occupation at Cactus Flower appears to represent late spring to early autumn hunting camps. The excavations provide the best picture to date of the McKean Complex on the Canadian Plains.
