Download or read book God's Black Badge written by Jim Finn and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2013-10-18 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It seems that since my conception, God has always blessed me with his guidance and protection. He has always taken care of my enemies, and he took my pain to become their pain. There were many times that I could not understand or rationalize why my situations were eased and the end results were always positive. It took me many years to realize that Gods unchanging hand dealt me the necessary cards of life that has carried me from the gutter most to the uttermost. As we Christian folks always say, God may not be there when you need him most, but he will not forsake you and he is always be there on time. The following occurrences are true, and without my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, my life would be in turmoil and filled with sadistic behavior. The following is also my testimony of just how great Gods love is if we would only let go and let God.

Book Synopsis The Third Realm of Luxury by : Joanne Roberts
Download or read book The Third Realm of Luxury written by Joanne Roberts and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2019-10-31 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a world that is obsessed with luxury, critical luxury studies is a rapidly emerging field. This is the first book to explore the interplay between the real and imaginary realms of luxury, considering the most significant developments in the theories and practices of luxurious places and spaces over the last fifty years. Providing a critical approach to contemporary interpretations of luxury, the book interrogates the distinction between real places and imaginary spaces. Bringing together an interdisciplinary group of leading scholars, it features a range of case studies which take the reader from the Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge to expressions of sensuality in the 1970s domestic interior, and global conceptions of fine wine and art. The Third Realm of Luxury considers the interplay between luxury and space in both the past and the present, examining the abstract conception of excess and exoticism, as well as the real locations of the home, hotel, apartment, and palace. Full of original research, it is a key contribution to the study of consumption, design, fashion, and architecture.
Download or read book Jagdgeschwader 52 written by John Weal and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2012-10-20 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jagdgeschwader 52 (JG 52) was the most successful and highest-scoring fighter unit, not just in Germany's World War 2 Luftwaffe, but in the entire annals of aviation history. No other fighter group has ever come close to matching its staggering total of around 9000 enemy aircraft shot down in combat. And yet, because much of that combat took place over the tractless wastes of the Russian front, very little has been written in English about the exploits of this charismatic unit. This book provides a full combat history of JG 52 and its members, including the three top-scoring aces of all time, who claimed a total of 900 victories between them.
Book Synopsis The Official History Of The New Zealand Rifle Brigade [Illustrated Edition] by : Lieut.-Col. W. S. Austin
Download or read book The Official History Of The New Zealand Rifle Brigade [Illustrated Edition] written by Lieut.-Col. W. S. Austin and published by Pickle Partners Publishing. This book was released on 2014-06-13 with total page 1124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over 40 Illustrations of the officers, men and battles they engaged in. The Rifle Brigade has a long and distinguished history in the British Army as a corps of elite troops with a fighting pedigree stretching back to the times of Wellington, the Peninsular War and Waterloo. During the First World War the huge number of volunteers from New Zealand overstripped the ability of the administration to provide more than one brigade of infantry in 1915. However in 1916 a second brigade was formed and was designated as the New Zealand Rifle Brigade, marrying the traditions of the British Rifle Brigade for the highest standards of soldiery and the New Zealand traditions of courage, native skill and toughness. The New Zealand Rifle Brigade fought with distinction across the British zones of the battlefields of France and Flanders. As their official historian recounts with his vivid narrative from the bloody but successful debut at the battle of Flers-Courcelette, the battle of Messines, Passchendaele and the dark days of the German offensives in 1918, the “Dinks” as they were known covered themselves in glory. They would produce two Victoria cross winners from their ranks and many of their men would return to their native islands with other high honours for gallantry and bravery. However, the losses of these brave men were prodigious and the names of the fallen are inscribed in full detail in an appendix at the end of the book.
