Book excerpt: They do not originate from Burma, today's Myanmar, and never lived in a temple there. Nevertheless, one believes immediately that these cats with the very friendly nature come from a Buddhist temple. In fact, they are breedings from Persian and Siamese cats, which were probably first bred in a French kennel. The Sacred Burmese is a point cat, so only the ears, nose, face, legs and tail are dark colored. Deep blue eyes and white paws are the most important breed characteristics. The book answers important questions about keeping and raising these furry dwarfs: Why are Birman cats indoor-only cats? What should be considered in the care of fur, claws and teeth? How can you recognize good cat food? What prevention is important for the health of cats? What is important in the home furnishings? What makes the Birman cat so unique? Read important tips on the education and training of the cat. Sometimes the cute cats also educate the human. We will tell you how to prevent this. You can find this content in the book: - Myths of the breed - Breed characteristics - Character - Keeping an indoor cat in a species-appropriate way - Health and veterinary visits - Selection of the animal - Education and training - Recognizing indications of diseases - Appendix with detailed instructions and valuable tips - With more than 10 illustrations! This book is interesting for all cat owners, of course especially for those who own a Birman or want to acquire this cat breed. Ensure many happy cat years and get information about the Birman cat in this book.

This book was released on 2017-01-11 with total page 25 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Birmans origin is very unique and mysterious. It is said that the breed came about as the result of a miracle in Burma where the animal was considered sacred. The legend is that at the temple of Lao-Tsun, where a statue of the golden goddess Tsun-Kyan-Kse was kept along with one hundred white cats, an old priest, Mun-Ha, was killed by attackers. At the moment of his death, Mun-Has companion cat, Sinh, a white cat with amber eyes, immediately jumped on the priest and faced the goddess. As the cat did this, it is said that the priests soul entered the cat because the cats hair turned golden and its eyes became the same color blue as the goddess. The legs, face, and tail turned brown as the earth, except for the feet, which, resting on the priest, remained white. In seven days, Sinh died carrying the soul of Mun-Ha to paradise. The next day, all the other cats made the same transformation, which led the priests to regard them as sacred. How this breed came to be around in the world is just as puzzling. It is believed that in 1919, two Birmans were shipped from Burma to France. Although only the pregnant female survived, this was enough to establish this breed across the world. The name comes from the French word for Burma, Birmanie. In 2014, the Birman was the fifteenth most popular long-haired cat according to CFA registration statistics.

Some have long hair, some have short, and some have no hair at all. Some have hair, but it's really no more than a little peach fuzz. But there are more just than just physical differences between the breeds. Their personalities are just as vibrant, and each breed is not quite like the others. Some are chatty and friendly, others are aloof and circumspect. Some spend their days climbing door frames, others would rather lie about in the sun. These differences are fascinating to behold and helpful to all those interested in sharing their home with a cat. Found here are more than sixty of the most common breeds and hybrids from around the world.
