Download or read book Sintering Mechanism as Applied to Refractory Oxides written by D. R. Wilder and published by . This book was released on 1952 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This annotated bibliography was prepared as a guide to the literature, 1937 to 1952, pertaining to sintering of refractory oxides. It includes the theories proposed for the mechanism of sintering and much of the work on which these theories are based. Due to the limited and scattered nature of the work reported, subject classification has not been made, but the abstracts are listed alphabetically by author.

Book Synopsis Sintering Fundamentals by : G.S. Upadhyaya
Download or read book Sintering Fundamentals written by G.S. Upadhyaya and published by Trans Tech Publications Ltd. This book was released on 2009-06-11 with total page 152 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters BCI (WoS). This book comprises state-of-theart reviews written by acknowledged experts who are active in sintering science. It includes seven invited reviews by authors hailing from five countries: J-M.Chaix (France) discusses quantitative aspects of the microstructures and modeling of sintering; with the technical aspects of image-analysis - including that of nanostructured materials - adding extra value. Z.S. Nikolic (Serbia) provides a theoretical review of the simulation of liquid-phase sintering, particularly under microgravity conditions, and extensively and critically reviews the results reported in the sintering literature. A.L. Lisovsky (Ukraine) opens up the vista of deconsolidation of polycrystalline skeletons in sintered composite materials, and deals with systems having more than one refractory solid phase, and with nanodispersed composite materials. G.S. Upadhyaya ( India) reviews the Samsonov model for the electronic mechanism of sintering, and its relevance; pointing out that, although the model is a qualitative one, it has great utility as a predictive tool and that various case-studies drawn from real multi-phase material systems are a testimony to the value of Samsonovs model.

Download or read book Science of Sintering written by H. Palmour III and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-11 with total page 626 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume, SCIENCE OF SINTERING: NEW DIRECTIONS FOR MATERIALS PROCESSING AND MICROSTRUCTURAL CONTROL, contains the edited Proceedings of the Seventh World Round Table Conference on Sintering, held in Herceg-Novi, Yugoslavia, Aug. 28 - Sept. 1, 1989. It was organized by the International Institute for the Science of Sintering (IISS), headquartered in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. Every fourth year since 1969, the Institute has organized such a Round Table Conference on Sintering; each has taken place at some selected location within Yugoslavia. A separate series of IISS Topical Sintering Symposia (Summer Schools) have also been held at four year intervals, but they have been offset by about two years, so they occur between the main Conferences. As a rule, the Topical Sintering Symposia have been devoted to more specific topics and they also take place in different countries. The aim of these Conferences and their related "Summer Schools" has been to bring together scientists from all over the world who work in various fields of science and technology concerned with sintering and sintered materials. A total of seven IISS Conferences have been held over the period 1969-1989, and they have been supplemented by the four Topical Sintering Symposia held in Yugoslavia, Poland, India and Japan (in 1975, 1979, 1983 and 1987, respectively). This most recent five day Conference addressed the fundamental scientific background as well as the technological state-of-the-art pertinent to science of sintering and high technology sintered materials.

Book Synopsis Densification of Metal Powders During Sintering by : V. A. Invenson

This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sintering of powder metal compacts is one of the basic oper ations in powder metallurgy. The useful properties of a machine part are obtained after considerable densification of the sintered material. Although the mechanical properties of the part depend on other structural factors besides porosity, porosity is the main factor. Usually, the practical problem in sintering is to obtain a part with the desired or permissible porosity. Thus, knowledge of the laws governing densification and its final result is neces sary to control this process in the production of powder metal parts. The laws governing densification are also important for a more exact physical theory of sintering, which is still in the initial stages of its development. Such processes as the change in the density of lattice defects and the flow of crystalline substances during sintering have not yet received a complete physical inter pretation. Analysis of the laws of sintering may provide addition al material for more complete phenomenological characteristics of these processes that will be useful for further development of theoretical concepts of the flow of imperfect crystals under small loads. Although a substantial amount of experimental material has been accumulated, generalizations are still difficult.
