Book excerpt: You Mean to Say You Don’t Know the Meaning of * Monophysitism * Hypostatic Union * Infralapsarian * Traducianism * Chiliastic * Pneumatomachian Cheer up! You don’t have to have thousand-dollar vocabulary in order to grasp the priceless basics of Christianity. Christianity 101 bridges the gap between biblical scholarship and people who want to understand the Christian faith. This book presents eight basic doctrines of Christianity--The Bible, God, Christ, Holy Spirit, Human Beings, Redemption, The Church, and The Last Things--in clear, simple language that gives seasoned Christians a fresh understanding of the Bible and its teachings and puts new Christians on familiar terms with Christian doctrine. Gilbert Bilezikian does not shape his analysis of these doctrines in the worn-out, rationalistic categories of older systematic theologies, but in vibrant, dynamic language designed to communicate biblical truths to contemporary believers.

Christians are free to disagree with other believers about certain matters of faith and practice that ought not to break up their unity or fellowship. But they will stand together on certain key doctrines and beliefs that are nonnegotiable. This book highlights those core Christian teachings that demand assent in order for someone to be called a true follower of Christ. A considerable amount of space is also devoted to the aspects of these central tenets that might include some flexibility of understanding without compromising the integrity of scriptural truth and the Christian tradition. 114

Book excerpt: This 19-lesson self-study series on Basic Bible Doctrines is part of an overall collection of 61 lessons that cover many of the fundamental Christian teachings and beliefs in a topical or thematic sense. It assumes no prior knowledge of the Bible or any specific religious background. It does assume that the participant has an interest in learning these important Biblical and historical truths in order to grow in their faith. It was designed to be a well-rounded study covering Christian doctrine, history, apologetics and practical life. Some of the topics are sequential in nature and will cover a period of several studies (i.e. church history studies). This is an ongoing project that is continually being updated on a regular basis. There is a need for these fundamental biblical and historical teachings in the church today. They complement the study of the Bible text by providing an overall view of the subject. New believers need to understand and learn many of these basic teachings before they can properly understand exegetical/ expository studies. Many seasoned believers in the body may also lack the teaching in these areas and would benefit from them.

Book excerpt: Have you ever wondered about the security of salvationyour own or perhaps that of someone you know? Do you sometimes worry about not going to hell? And what about babies? Do they get a free pass to Heaven? And where did evil come from, anyway? Why? Is Eve really to blame for all the worlds troubles? Do the Ten Commandments apply to everyone? In marriage, do wives really have to be in subjection to their husbands? And are you concerned about how this world is headed? What does the Bible really say about events like the rapture, the great tribulation, the mark of the beast, the abomination of desolation, and those other scary things? Theres no need to wonder any longer. Here are the answers and more from Gods Word, easy to understand but profound and right on target. But be aware that some of your long-held beliefs will be thrown rudely to the ground. The author tells it like it is, not like what you thought it was. If you are sincere about finding the truth, it will help you find it. If you cant handle the truth, it may anger and frustrate you. Either way, you wont ever be the same.

This book was released on 1918 with total page 366 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The author of these sermons has had a feeling for a long time that the great need in our churches in this day is systematic indoctrination. He put his theory into practice last winter in his own church, and these sermons are the result. We were having a great many accessions to our church. In the two years of the church's history we had had something like six hundred accessions to the church, and every month considerable numbers of new members were being added. While many of these came by letter from other churches, many of them were new converts and had had practically no systematic instruction in the fundamental truths of the Christian faith, so we announced a series of sermons on The Fundamental Doctrines of the Christian Faith. There was immediately a large increase in the attendance at the services where these addresses were given, and this increase has kept up until on the last Lord's Day we had much the largest attendance we have ever had, excepting on Easter Sunday. Many have testified to the blessing received from these sermons, and there has been a great demand that the sermons be printed for general circulation. This request has come from ministers of various denominations, Episcopalians, Presbyterians, Methodists, Baptists, and others. It is hoped that this volume will be useful to other pastors in suggesting lines of teaching in their regular pastoral work, and also that it may be used widely by pastors and others for circulation among Christians. We live in a day in which many of our church members are all at sea as to what they believe on the fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith. These sermons have already helped many through their delivery. It is hoped they will reach and help far more in the printed form.
