Book Synopsis Confessions of the World's Best Father by : Dave Engledow
Download or read book Confessions of the World's Best Father written by Dave Engledow and published by Avery. This book was released on 2014 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As seen on CBS Sunday Morning · A hilarious pictorial parody of a clueless father and his adorable daughter In an attempt to create an image that his new daughter would one day appreciate, Dave Engledow took a photo in which he's cradling eight-week-old Alice Bee like a football and doctored it to look like he's squirting breast milk into a "World's Best Father" mug. Friends and family clamored for more. After Dave's humorous attempts to capture the sleep-deprived obliviousness of being a first-time dad went viral, he and Alice Bee found themselves bona fide Internet and television celebrities. Merging a Norman Rockwell aesthetic with a darkly comic sensibility, Dave pairs each side-splittingly funny image with a log entry describing the awkward situation that the World's Best Father has found himself in. Hilarious and heartwarming, Confessions of the World's Best Father is a celebration of the early years of parenthood.

Book Synopsis Dad's Best Memories and Recollections by : Charles J. Humber
Download or read book Dad's Best Memories and Recollections written by Charles J. Humber and published by FriesenPress. This book was released on 2016-01-19 with total page 230 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: DAD'S BEST MEMORIES AND RECOLLECTIONS is Chazzz Humber's epithaph casting a very long and sentimental shadow across North America and beyond. This 230-page volume is his granite monument, well-polished! It lavishly records 125 of his best memories over a life-span of nearly eighty years. The vignettes are serenaded with more than 400 illustrations. Those discovering this volume likely will find themselves wanting to record, in their own sunset years, their personal memories and recollections. And when they do, they are apt to recall what it was like to live in their fluctuating world dominated by a variety of personalities and cascading events. Mr. Humber vividly describes what it was like, in 1945, to travel in a 1930 Model A Ford from Toronto to Boston. With lively enthusiasm, he reports what it was like to live in post-World War II Boston, to cook a lobster for a former President of the United States or to sell a pair of elevator shoes to one of Hollywood's shortest celebrities or to shine the shoes of a Derby-hatted father of a future President of the United States. It is not a remarkable achievement to reflect, to recall or to have memories that are treasured. But to tell them with literary aplomb, to recall the events that happened nearly seventy-five years ago with utmost clarity is definitely an admirable achievement and should be cherished not only by the kin who follow Mr. Humber but by those who might like to imitate what he has monumentally achieved in Dad's Best Memories and Recollections.

Book Synopsis How to Be a Parent Champion and Add Magic to Your Family by : Alan Wilson
Download or read book How to Be a Parent Champion and Add Magic to Your Family written by Alan Wilson and published by Develop Your Child CIC. This book was released on 2011 with total page 189 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Every purchaser has free access to monthly community calls to share challenges, successes and practice new skills as they work through the book. Parent Child Relationships are tricky to understand, and gradual changes in your relationship with your child can go unnoticed. Children's behaviour and attitudes can make parents feel remote and unheard, at a loss to understand their child's performance at school, their child's lack of attention, self-care or respect for others. Desperate to provide the best life chance's for their child, parents are often advised to focus on the child, but the harder the parent tries to help, the harder the child pushes back. As their child grows, a happy family life becomes a more distant memory. Rebellious teenage years may be traditional, but a bad relationship with your teenager is not inevitable. You can be happy and comfortable being a natural parent, seeing your children from a different perspective, capable and confident in meeting challenges. Schools Aware Campaign Alan Wilson's second book "How to be a Parent Champion and add magic to your family" is the lynchpin of the approach he's bringing to schools, helping them to let parents know there is a way to contribute to improving their child's outlook, that they don't have to rely entirely on the resources of the school to manage behaviour and attitudes to learning and attainment. That perhaps, it isn't necessary for behaviour to attract the attention of specialists before you can improve the attention and behaviour of your child. If you're a parent, teacher or governor and think your school would welcome an approach to explain how we can work together to promote strong parent child relationships as a method for behavioural change, increased engagement and attainment, please contact Alan at [email protected] and he'll prioritise accordingly! It's more than a self-help book because it comes with free ongoing support at http: //parentchildrelationships.co.uk/

Book Synopsis We Are America, We Are Americans (HB) by : Matt Teahan
Download or read book We Are America, We Are Americans (HB) written by Matt Teahan and published by Dorrance Publishing. This book was released on 2022-06-08 with total page 460 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We Are America, We Are Americans (HB) By: Matt Teahan A Journey through life (at least part of it)... and the lessons learned… and in a rare instance…. taught. In this quasi-autobiography, I answer the confounding questions of our day through a riveting (for some people) journey of all topics relevant. Is the United States of America really a Christian Nation? Where has this Country’s corporate leadership gone? Why would anyone waste an entire adolescence refining their basketball jump shot? Why has the moral compass in Professional Sports disappeared into the abyss of political wokeness? Why do we need to ban plastic straws and not water bottles…..particularly if Climate Change is going to kill us all in 9 years, anyway? How do we pay reparations for people of mixed race? How can chicken sandwiches galvanize and legitimize the LGBT community? What did I share with the Pope at the sacred site of Fatima? What’s it going to take to get millennials off Twitter, out of Mom’s basement and into Church? Why is ‘systemic ignorance’ a far greater threat to this country than anything else ‘systemic’? I’ll introduce a toxic blend of fact, fiction, criticism, sarcasm, reality, inquiry, and humor into the topics of the day. And I’ll blend my shallow, yet relevant, life experiences into the mix where it’s almost impossible to tell the difference. You may get bored. You might not. You may or may not like my viewpoints. You might not even like me. But you won’t be the first nor the last. I think, however, everyone will find something here they can relate to. Whether it’s basketball, friends, God, politics, a career, or the social issues of the day there’s something for everybody. Even for those who rarely open a book, like today’s College students. For them I’ve included pictures. See! Something for everybody!! And although some of my viewpoints you may frown upon, you will appreciate the humor, anecdotes, multiple geography lessons, ridicule, sarcasm, and blatant hypocrisy that I’ll expose on any number of topics. All shrouded in the novel concept called ‘common sense’. And if you don’t like to read about those types of things, then don’t buy the book. Get it at the library. I started this book on July 4th, 2020. And I did it for a reason.
