This book is a testimony of God's faithfulness in comforting and meeting us at every point of need. Now visually impaired, I refuse to allow a disability to hinder my capabilities of reaching my God-given potential. Instead, I feel even more empowered and highly motivated! As a result, I challenge others, with disabilities, to be inspired and follow life's dreams! Jeremiah 29:11 (GW) says, "I know the plans that I have for you, declares the LORD. They are plans for peace and not disaster plans to give you a future filled with hope." Therefore, no matter what hurricanes, storms, tornadoes, or other disasters you may encounter, this book is designed to encourage you to continue fighting the good fight of faith. It was during my hurricane times of grief I realized that if I had not built my life on a solid foundation, with God, I probably could not have made it this far. Isaiah 59:19 (KJV) says, "When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him." God spoke to Jacob in Isaiah 43:1-3 (KJV): But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It was Black Friday. We went to Tysons mall early that morning to do our Christmas shopping. We? I had traveled to Maryland to be with my husband's family for their annual Thanksgiving celebration. His mother, father, all his brothers and sisters and their children were there, including our children. He was the only one absent. Supposedly he had to work this Thanksgiving but would join us Thursday night, then he fell asleep after work and would join us Friday morning before going to the mall. Leaving the mall around five, he was a no-show, so I made a conscious decision to go home once we got to my sister-in-law's house. I packed our things, left my two oldest girls, and got on the highway heading home. I stopped to get gas thirty to forty miles down the road. My sons, five and ten, were all buckled up; I had my bedroom shoes on. Taking a left out of the service station, I was heading home. One mile, two miles, this road was now very narrow, icy, and snow had accumulated from the weather earlier that day. Leveling off at an elevation of 4,200 feet, we started down this mountain. Two hundred feet we stared in disbelief at a twenty-five-foot white gate stretched across the snow-covered road.

Book Synopsis Gentle and Lowly by : Dane C. Ortlund
Download or read book Gentle and Lowly written by Dane C. Ortlund and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2020-03-18 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christians know that God loves them, but can easily feel that he is perpetually disappointed and frustrated, maybe even close to giving up on them. As a result, they focus a lot—and rightly so—on what Jesus has done to appease God’s wrath for sin. But how does Jesus Christ actually feel about his people amid all their sins and failures? This book draws us to Matthew 11, where Jesus describes himself as “gentle and lowly in heart,” longing for his people to find rest in him. The gospel flows from God’s deepest heart for his people, a heart of tender love for the sinful and suffering. These chapters take readers into the depths of Christ’s very heart for sinners, diving deep into Bible passages that speak of who Christ is and encouraging readers with the affections of Christ for his people. His longing heart for sinners comforts and sustains readers in their up-and-down lives.
