If she's going to play, she'll need an erotic education, and she knows just the man to teach her how to submit... Oliver Preston isn't one to turn down pleasure, but Eliza's his sister's best friend, and he's torn between a sense of duty and his rock-hard need to find out if she tastes as delicious as he's dreamed. Unable to handle the thought of another man owning her body, he draws Eliza deep into his world of exquisite pain and pleasure. He has three lessons to instruct her. Three lessons to drive them both to the brink of ecstasy. And three lessons before he must give her to another man...if he doesn't lose himself first.

Book Synopsis Barksdale's Charge by : Phillip Thomas Tucker
Download or read book Barksdale's Charge written by Phillip Thomas Tucker and published by Casemate. This book was released on 2013-07-24 with total page 475 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is “never a dull moment” in this “excellent account” of an overlooked Confederate triumph during the Civil War’s Battle of Gettysburg (San Francisco Book Review). While many Civil War buffs celebrate Picket’s Charge as the climactic moment of the Battle of Gettysburg, the Confederate Army’s true high point had come the afternoon before. When Longstreet’s corps triumphantly entered the battle, the Federals just barely held on. The foremost Rebel spearhead on that second day of the battle was Brig. Gen. William Barksdale’s Mississippi brigade, which launched what one Union observer called the “grandest charge that was ever seen by mortal man.” On the second day of Gettysburg, the Federal left was not as vulnerable as Lee had envisioned, but had cooperated with Rebel wishes by extending its Third Corps into a salient. When Longstreet finally gave Barksdale the go-ahead, the Mississippians utterly crushed the peach orchard salient and continued marauding up to Cemetery Ridge. Hancock, Meade, and other Union generals had to gather men from four different corps to try to stem the onslaught. Barksdale himself was killed at the apex of his advance. Darkness, as well as Confederate exhaustion, finally ended the day’s fight as the shaken, depleted Federal units took stock. They had barely held on against the full ferocity of the Rebels on a day that would decide the fate of the nation.

A dog. A man. A miracle. In Bailey’s Remarkable Plan, David R. Hardiman shares his poignant story of struggle, prejudice, and pain. But this is also a story of perseverance, triumph, and love. Hardiman discovers that his four-footed companion, delivered to him by chance, is more than his best friend. Bailey is also his service dog, a shih tzu with an extraordinary gift—part of God’s “remarkable plan”—that allows her to assist, to protect, and to love. Bailey’s Remarkable Plan will inspire you, inform you, and challenge you to feel compassion for those suffering silently among us because of circumstances beyond their control. God sent Bailey to this earth as part of His plan, an angel in the form of a remarkable dog. Not the typical service dog, Bailey performs a miracle in the life of her owner and friend. And Hardiman’s story will touch your heart as you journey along with the boy who became a man encircled by love. “This book takes the reader on the author’s decades-long journey living with a rare medical condition coupled with post-traumatic stress disorder and Bailey’s intuitive ability to help him cope.”—Fort Worth Magazine “Bailey’s Remarkable Plan is a powerful, true story about a service dog that breaks all stereotypes and reveals a timely message of hope.”—Mike Norris, film director

Book Synopsis Atlas of Protein Spectra in the Ultraviolet and Visible Regions by : Donald M. Kirschenbaum
Download or read book Atlas of Protein Spectra in the Ultraviolet and Visible Regions written by Donald M. Kirschenbaum and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 298 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Once you have seen the spectrum of one protein you have seen the spectra of all pro teins. Or so it would seem. While the general characteristics of the absorption curve may appear to be similar for all proteins (i. e. , in acid and neutral solution there is a minimum at 250 nm, a maximum at 278-282 nm, and no absorption above 310 nm; in alkaline solution the maximum and minimum shift to longer wavelengths), there are subtle differences which can be seen when the spectra of many proteins are compared. It is these differences which reflect changes in amino acid content and in the milieu in which the protein has been dissolved. The spectra in this book provide samples of these subtle spectral differences and permit comparisons to be made. This book was prepared to have its index read and its contents referred to. For the reader who desires to know what a protein spectrum looks like in acid and alkaline media, after X-ray or UV irradiation, or after photo-oxidation or B-bromosuccinimide treatment, spectral representations of all these experimental situations and many others are available. The indicies were prepared to provide the maximum information with the minimum effort. In addition to an alphabetical listing, all spectra are referred to by species, tissues, and the organs from which they were taken. There are also "environmental" indicies related to the treatment the proteins received prior to having their spectra taken. Technical information concerning instrumentation is lacking.

Book Synopsis Feline Clinical Parasitology by : Dwight D. Bowman
Download or read book Feline Clinical Parasitology written by Dwight D. Bowman and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2008-02-08 with total page 482 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although there are books available dealing with canine parasitology, there is at present no book detailing parasites that offers clinical information specific to felines. Cats differ significantly from dogs in their parasitic infections and infestations. Although dogs and cats do share a few parasites, the vast majority of the parasites of these pets are specific to either cats or dogs, not to both. This must-have reference offers an in-depth examination of feline parasites. Topics covered include parasite identification, history, geographic distribution, pathogeneisis, epidemiology, zoonosis, diagnosis, treatment, control, and prevention. Because of the immense worldwide popularity of cats and due to the amount of travel undertaken by cats and their owners, the authors have produced a book that is international in scope. Consequently, this exhaustive reference has strong appeal to practitioners and veterinary parasitologists in North America and around the world.
