In this paper, three hypotheses concerning attitudes toward women managers were tested. One hypotheses stated that females would have more favorable attitudes women managers than males. The second hypothesis stated that age and attitudes towards women managers would be positively correlated. The third hypothesis stated that work experience would act as a moderating variable. Hypothesis 1 was supported. No support was found for hypotheses 2 and 3.

If toxic leader behavior is indeed sex-typed as masculine, as is leader behavior in general, there is a potential that women may also be devalued more harshly than men when behaving in a toxic manner. Although the behaviors and characteristics of toxic leaders are not desirable for either sex, if they are more attributable to one sex over the other, there is a potential that the other sex may be treated differently for exhibiting the same behavior.
