Incluye más de 1.500 imágenes en color y blanco y negro microscópicas, macroscópicas y radiológicas. Cada una de ellas se complementa con una pequeña descripción que resume los puntos clave ilustrados en ella. En algunas ocasiones, en esa explicación se incluyen correlaciones con los datos de anamnesis, la exploración física y las pruebas analíticas. Cabe destacar que en cada uno de los capítulos del atlas se incluyen muchas más imágenes que en los correspondientes tratados de referencia, ya que además de las correspondientes a las patológicas, se incluyen también imágenes correspondientes a la normalidad e imágenes de anatomía de superficie. (Como ejemplo, en el capítulo "tracto digestivo" en el atlas se incluyen 142 imágenes, mientras que en el tratado sólo aparecen 54). La obra también ofrece contenido online en inglés a través de la plataforma StudentConsult.com, en el que se encuentran todas las imágenes del libro más 210 imágenes adicionales. En cada una de las imágenes puede aplicarse el efecto "zoom".
