Trata-se de uma síntese que destaca a particularidadeea especificidade dos processos de industrialização e desenvolvimento do sistema educacional de ambos, visando a realização de uma reflexão a respeito da importância que a educação e o processo de industrialização tiveram na trajetória doprocesso de desenvolvimento econômico de Brasil e Coréia do Sul, considerando, sempre, a realização de tais processos numa perspectiva histórica. Desde meados da década de 1930, tanto Brasil quanto República da Coréia intensificaram bastanteseus processos de industrialização, o que coincidiu, também, com a expansão quantitativa de seus sistemas de ensino. Enquanto que na Coréia do Sul tanto o processo de industrialização quanto a expansão do sistema educacional foram encarados demaneira estratégica, como forma do país sobreviver diante de conjunturas bastante difíceis, no Brasil a industrialização realizou-se principalmente por meio de uma política de substituição de importações que conheceu seu auge durante a década de1950, enquanto a expansão do sistema educacional iria concretizar-se apenas em meados da década de 1970. Durante a década de 1980, diferenças acentuadas em relação ao dinamismo dos processos de industrialização e à eficiência.
