Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ride with the Troopers of the Arkansas State Police as they raid illegal gambling operations and take down drug dealers. Experience the helplessness as officers watch a fellow Trooper being ambushed. Mourn with the families when they receive word that a loved one has been killed in the line of duty. Feel the pain when you hear the sound of a twenty one-gun salute and cry as taps are blown at the funeral of a fallen comrade. You may wonder why anyone would choose to enter a profession that poses the danger associated with wearing a badge. It's pretty simple. Just ask any police officer who has rescued someone from a burning vehicle, or found a lost child and safely returned him or her to their parents. Then you'll understand!

Earl Scroggin and others took to organize and host Arkansas' first state police recruit training school.

Book Synopsis Rock Island Railroad in Arkansas by : Michael E. Hibblen
Download or read book Rock Island Railroad in Arkansas written by Michael E. Hibblen and published by Arcadia Publishing. This book was released on 2017 with total page 1 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For nearly 80 years, the Rock Island was a major railroad in Arkansas providing passenger and freight services. A decline in rail travel after World War II and an increase in trucks hauling freight over government-subsidized interstates were among factors that left the railroad struggling. Efforts to merge with other railroads were stalled for years by federal regulators. The Rock Island filed for bankruptcy in 1975 and attempted a reorganization, but creditors wanted the assets liquidated, with a judge shutting it down in 1980. Most of the tracks that traversed the state were taken up, but a few relics, like the Little Rock passenger station and the Arkansas River bridge, remain as monuments to this once great railroad.

A GOVERNMENT OF WOLVES paints a chilling portrait of a nation in the final stages of transformation into outright authoritarianism, whose citizens have become little more than a nation of suspects to be cowed, corralled, and controlled. Pulling from his extensive knowledge of constitutional law, history, and futuristic films, John W. Whitehead helps readers navigate this treacherous terrain and provides them with a blueprint for hopefully finding their way back to freedom.
