La gestión efectiva del mantenimiento supone una de las actividades cruciales de la mayor parte de las empresas con activos físicos. Son por ello lógicos los esfuerzos orientados a optimizar su funcionamiento, involucrando para tal fin tanto a medios humanos como técnicos. En el libro de investigación de este autor titulado “La gestión del conocimiento en la ingeniería del mantenimiento industrial: investigación sobre la incidencia en sus actividades estratégicas”, se realizó una descripción del estado de la situación y los principios básicos de la gestión del conocimiento y de la ingeniería del mantenimiento. En este documento se ha propuesto y desarrollado un modelo para la gestión del conocimiento dentro del área de mantenimiento industrial, articulándose durante más de dos años en una investigación de campo en el interior de una industria del sector alimentario, con altas exigencias técnicas, de fiabilidad, con el fin de cuantificar el impacto y las características que suponen para la empresa una mejora de la transferencia del conocimiento dentro del área de mantenimiento industrial, mejorando la eficiencia de dicho servicio. Este documento persigue proporcionar referencias reales y juicios de expertos que expliquen en cómo y por qué el conocimiento y su gestión es tan relevante en el área de mantenimiento de la empresa.
