Book Synopsis Musique et langage by : Marie-Noëlle Masson
Download or read book Musique et langage written by Marie-Noëlle Masson and published by . This book was released on 1998 with total page 1048 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: CETTE RECHERCHE SE SITUE DANS LE CADRE DE LA SEMIOLOGIE OU SCIENCE DES SIGNES POUR LAQUELLE LE LANGAGE EST UNE REFERENCE OBLIGEE. LA QUESTION LIMINAIRE, D'OU DERIVERONT TOUTES LES AUTRES, EST CELLE DE LA VALIDITE ET DE LA FECONDITE D'UN TRANSFERT DE METHODOLOGIE : A QUELLES CONDITIONS ET DANS QUELLES LIMITES LE LANGAGE TONAL PEUT-IL ETRE CONSIDERE COMME ANALOGUE A UN FAIT DE LANGAGE ? QUELLE EST LA PORTEE METHODOLOGIQUE DE NOTIONS TELLES QUE "SEGMENTATION", "STRUCTURE", "PARADIGME", "SYNTAXE", "RHETORIQUE", "FIGURES", "PREDICATION", "SENS", "NARRATION", ETC. DANS L'ANALYSE DES OEUVRES MUSICALES ? LES TROIS PARTIES QUI ORGANISENT L'ENSEMBLE DU TEXTE - "L'ESPACE DU LANGAGE", "LA MUSIQUE TONALE", "POETIQUE MUSICALE" - MONTRENT, A TRAVERS UN JEU DE VA-ET-VIENT ENTRE LE LANGAGE ET LA MUSIQUE, QUE L'ANALYSE DU SYSTEME TONAL SE PRETE AISEMENT A UNE APPROCHE STRUCTURALE, LE DISCOURS MUSICAL ETANT ANALOGUE A CELUI QUE DEVELOPPE LA POESIE. CEPENDANT, AU-DELA DE LA SIMPLE TRANSPOSITION D'OUTILS CONCEPTUELS DU CHAMPS DU LANGAGE VERS CELUI DE LA MUSIQUE, CETTE ETUDE FAIT APPARAITRE QUE LE LANGAGE CONSTITUE UN ARCHETYPE, LE TOPOS D'UNE METAPHORE, HISTORIQUEMENT DATES ET NETTEMENT DELIMITES DANS LE TEMPS. LA CONCLUSION A LAQUELLE ELLE ABOUTIT MENE A UNE REFLEXION GENERALE SUR LES NOTIONS D'ARCHETYPE ET DE METAPHORE : LA LINGUISTIQUE FOURNIT UNE "FICTION OPERATOIRE" QUI PERMET D'EXPLORER LES RAISONS POUR LESQUELLES, DANS UN CONTEXTE HISTORIQUE DEFINI, LA MUSIQUE S'EST PENSEE COMME UN SIMULACRE DU LANGAGE. A L'INVERSE, L'INADEQUATION DU MODELE LINGUISTIQUE DANS L'APPROCHE D'AUTRES REPERTOIRES, INVITE A RECHERCHER SELON QUELLE AUTRE RHETORIQUE LE METALANGAGE DU XXEME SIECLE APPREHENDE L'OEUVRE MUSICALE, ET A DEFINIR UNE AUTRE METAPHORE OU LA TEMPORALITE DISCURSIVE CEDE LE PAS A UNE SPATIALISATION DU TEMPS MUSICAL.

Book excerpt: The international research project on Musical Signification, since its founding over ten years ago, has sought to win new scholars to musical semiotics. To that end, the Department of Musicology at Helsinki University has already organized five international doctoral and postdoctoral seminars. They have become something of a tradition. The anthology consists of papers presented in the three first seminars covering areas from music philosophy and aesthetics to the analysis of vocal and instrumental as well as electro-acoustic music, interrelationships of arts, music history, post-modernism, etc.
Book Synopsis Discourse Segmentation in Romance Languages by : Salvador Pons Bordería
Download or read book Discourse Segmentation in Romance Languages written by Salvador Pons Bordería and published by John Benjamins Publishing Company. This book was released on 2014-11-15 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume gathers together for the first time contributions from the most relevant approaches in discourse segmentation developed in the last fifteen years in Romance languages. All these approaches share the assumption that discourses (either oral or written) can be fully divided into units and subunits: just like sentences are fully analyzed with the help of Syntax, discourse can be fully analyzed with the help of Pragmatics. In this sense, the approaches in this volume represent a step forward with respect to the issues in segmentation addressed by Conversational Analysis or by Discourse Analysis. The research questions addressed in this volume range from the distribution of foci to the coupling of gestures and discourse units, the treatment of discourse markers or the interplay between intonation and discourse organization; all of great interest for General Linguistics, as well as for Romance Languages.
Book Synopsis Elements of Meaning in Gesture by : Geneviève Calbris
Download or read book Elements of Meaning in Gesture written by Geneviève Calbris and published by John Benjamins Publishing. This book was released on 2011 with total page 399 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Summarizing her pioneering work on the semiotic analysis of gestures in conversational settings, Geneviève Calbris offers a comprehensive account of her unique perspective on the relationship between gesture, speech, and thought. She highlights the various functions of gesture and especially shows how various gestural signs can be created in the same gesture by analogical links between physical and semantic elements. Originating in our world experience via mimetic and metonymic processes, these analogical links are activated by contexts of use and thus lead to a diverse range of semantic constructions rather as, from the components of a Meccano kit, many different objects can be assembled. By (re)presenting perceptual schemata that mediate between the concrete and the abstract, gesture may frequently anticipate verbal formulation. Arguing for gesture as a symbolic system in its own right that interfaces with thought and speech production, Calbris' book brings a challenging new perspective to gesture studies and will be seminal for generations of gesture researchers.
Book Synopsis Troubling Inheritances by : Sara Cohen
Download or read book Troubling Inheritances written by Sara Cohen and published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA. This book was released on 2022-08-11 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides an interdisciplinary focus on music, memory, and ageing by examining how they intersect outside of a formal therapeutic context or framework and by offering a counter-narrative to age as decline. It contributes to the development of qualitative research methodologies by utilizing and reflecting on methods for studying music, memory, and ageing across diverse and interconnected contexts. Using the notion of inheritance to trouble its core themes of music, memory, ageing, and methodology, it examines different ways in which the concept of inheritance is understood but also how it commonly refers to the practice of passing on, and the connections this establishes across time and space. It confronts the ageist discourses that associate popular music predominantly with youth and that focus narrowly, and almost exclusively, on music's therapeutic function for older adults. By presenting research which examines various intersections of music and ageing outside of a therapeutic context or framework, the book brings a much-needed intervention.

Book Synopsis Musique et langage chez Rousseau by : Claude Dauphin
Download or read book Musique et langage chez Rousseau written by Claude Dauphin and published by . This book was released on 2004 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
